BCanr2d2
Will GL do Extended editions of not only TPM and AOTC, but all 6 movies when they are all out? I think that PJ has it right, that the DVD is a different beast to cinema, and he felt comfortable making a 3 1/2 movie.... I know it would be hard to insert stuff into the OT, but I see that GL would have it some where in the back of his head to do it. He is just that kind of person, he will keep adding bits and pieces until he thinks that they are closer to his original vision....
JediNyt
I hope so. I think he wants to. Im sure theres enough stuff that was shot for all of them and not put into the movies. He'll remaster them, add effects and make SW all the greater. The Star Wars Saga Final Edition on dvd! Woo hoo! Itll probably be out 2006.
Keiran Halcyon
I think he will (and he should). There ale lost of deleted scenes in that movies and well they can always extend space battles and hoth battle...
Jedi_Monk
It's an awesome idea, but does anyone know what condition the deleted scenes from the OT are probably in? Before the THX version, they had a documentary about remastering the films, and something McCallum said was that the original print of ANH had degraded so far that if it hadn't been remastered then, it would be lost forever. That was, what? Seven years ago? And I doubt that they remastered all of the deleted scenes. But these are probably just bits and pieces lost, a little piece of a scene that could've been extended here and there. Some of the big chunks, like Biggs talking to Luke, exist in bootleg prints and on that one SW CD. I hope Lucas would do something like this... just add another CD to the set that has all of the deleted scenes integrated into the movies. Maybe when he sees how Lord of the Ring's extended version did, he'll do this
Taos
I think/hope he will. It would be much easier to do the prequals then the OT. After LOTR has done it, I bet GL probably will....

nova_wolf
Well, I pray so, as there are suppose to be scenes in ROTJ that see the awesome heavy B-Wing fighter dish some out on star destroyers, and they are the ONLY fighter we don't see in action from the original four (A/B/X/Y). Being a B-Wing pilot myself, that would ROCK!
Deft Aklin
I happened to come across an article some time back that had GL saying that after EP3 he wanted to go back and make some changes to the OT. He said that certain things didn't match up quite right. IE. Why don't C3-PO and R2-D2 remember Obi-Wan in ANH. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll fix the glass lightsaber mess up in ANH. Remember, Obi's saber vanishes a few times in the battle between he and Vader. Obi mistakenly points the saber directly at the camera. ANyway, enough griping.... Just fix it GL! Jedi_Monk
He said that certain things didn't match up quite right. IE. Why don't C3-PO and R2-D2 remember Obi-Wan in ANH. I believe Lucas has said that their memories were wiped, and that we'll see that in Episode III. More likely, Lucas is talking about such things as Boba and Jango sounding differently (Get Temuera Morrison to redub Boba's lines), and maybe such things as adjusting the Stormtroopers' heights and voices so that it's clear that they're clones Yes, and Obi-Wan's lightsaber definitely needs to be fixed! Purple_Tentacle
when i was a kid and i saw the obi vs vader scene where obi-wan aims the lightsaber directly at the camera,, i thought that his lightsaber was running out of power, and thus getting shorter. interesting how a childs mind can interpret things like that. BCanr2d2
Just think, that even by adding 10 minutes to each, it's an extra hour (TPM DVD print different to VHS and cinema release). So, if we got 20 mins average per movie, it's like an extra SW movie to see!! The "THX" version you refer to, is the Widescreen version of the movies on VHS - it's just that he sent them into a different building in the Skywalker Ranch for his company THX to certify that they were a high quality VHS..... I remember reading that too, but also think about what is now done by ILM for his two prequel movies. I am sure there is plenty they can do to touch up the old footage, as well as make a lot of small changes that they can "blend" into the film. Digital grading is something that all the OT will get when going onto DVD, so that there isn't the large changes in lighting for different shots. Plenty of the things ILM will probably do to the OT movies will probably make them look a lot better than they ever have - perhaps taking away from their charm.... The could still release the old movies (as seen in theaters, i mean A NEW HOPE is STAR WARS) along with the modified ones. So all eople will be pleased For that i expect a rescore of the New Trilogy, specially ANH, forst becasue now there are better recording divces and it would sound better and second becasue it seems that ANH does not match the other music (no emperor no Imperial march and so.) We could still have the Antology and the SE of the music...

WOW there boys! Glaring problem here - they are NOT clones. The Empire stop using clones when it becae clear they tended to go ape **** for no reason after a while (doesn't eaxactly make for an effective fighting force!) They are trained on Carida. They are people! there may be some Clone Wars veterans amongst the new Stormies who ARE clones, but I think you'll find they are people now. Else I agree with everything else said! BCanr2d2
It looks like GL might have turned them into clones. Since the stories re: geneology of the Stormie's is all EU.......... IF GL wants them all as clones, then clones they are. He has now also announced that he will only put the SE versions on DVD, and not prepared to do extended versions. There might be a few new scenes here and there to make the 6 movies make sense, but no extra 20-40 minutes to make them a grander vision.
dark jedi 8
I went to "Mcallum's spectacular" screening at Celabration II and he said that we, the fans, will be quite pleased with all the new surprises GL has in store for the OT!
Naphtali
He already stated the clones was an original idea, how come no one is intelligent enough to think, that he had extras, probably not the voice he wanted, he wasn't thinking of Jangos voice, or as he;s human didn't think fans would get on him for such a ridiculous minor thing. nova_wolf
First - Naphtali, what movie is that Av from? Second -Part of maing any movie is realism. Even when it is sci-fi, fantasy, fiction, dinosaurs or undierpants stealing gnomes, a level of realism is good, and it is perfectly fair and realisitc for the Empire to move to drafting people in for service. Besides, I still say that for him to do and insult everyone who has worked fon or read EU is so callous. For instance, who remembers the story behind Kyp Durron and his brother.... What was his brother and where was he trained.... Beardy can kiss my hairy wookie butt/slimy gungan butt* if he thinks its a good idea. Look what happened to SE.... Nothing is fix what he did wrong, so the only way is d o w n (* - delete as appropriate)
Guest Jed
Personally, I think he'll only do extended versions of the Prequels. I know he's crafty enough to do it for the OT, but for some reason I doubt it'd be possible without the new parts looking too different from the old parts. *shrugs*
Hekx
I hope there's extended editions. The LOTR extended scenes helped me fill-in gaps of the story, since I haven't read the books. I doubt there will be though. The extended versions of the prequels does sound more likely, but I doubt it will happen. I just look forward to the WHOLE Star Wars Saga on DVD! dark jedi 8
Yeah me to, but knowing GL he'll probably put a sceen where greedo shoots a second time after he's dead or something.
ronbrothers
I think it would be a good idea to redub Boba's voice to match Jango's. But another thing that should/might be added is at the Ewok celbration, it would serve as a decent book end to the saga to have Qui-Gon and Mace appear along with Yoda, Obi and Anakin since they played such an important part in the beginning of Anakin's journey. Kinda being there to celebrate Anakin's bringing "balance to the Force".
dark jedi 8
yeah, i do agree that he should do a voice over or something to match the voices.
[RAA]-=Chi3f=-
Ep. 2 and 3 will be the easiest since they're in digital format. I hope they make each movie with alternate endings like Maul winning the fight in ep. 1 and Yoda-man (shudders) beating that old turd Dooku.
