Acrylic
I hope at least, then only thing were doing to make it cheaper is to have only 1 200gig HDD, and downgrade to and 18" LCD, which i think is just fine.

icefox98
Very nice comp, but youre getting ripped off. Heh. I just hope youre really rich. Building one that is exactly the same would cost about half the price.
RoguePhotonic
Not the fastest memory but you could check if the mother board supports better. **** though at that price I would have custom built one.
Acrylic
Well, were cutting down the price by about $500 with taking off 1 of the 200gb HDD's and making it and 18" instead of 19" EDIT: Not the fastest memory but you could check if the mother board supports better. Yea, its expandable to 1536 MB of RDRAM

Guest Jed
I know how happy you are, I just got a new laptop myself. Not as swanky as your new one, but still pretty good... Sad thing is in a year you'll hate it
Acrylic
Why will i hate it in a year?
Guest Jed
It'll be obsolete, that's all I'm saying. Or it'll still rule all other computers with an iron fist, depends on how you take care of it
Hyperglide
Originally posted by AcrylicGuitar Why will i hate it in a year? Probably because it will be considered obsolete. Computers have the shortest shelf life of any electronic equipment you have to upgrade quite frequently in order for it to stay top of the line. My Dell computer I bought a year and a half ago is probably considered obsolete now but back then it was almost top of the line (1 ghz pentium 3 20.4 gigs at 5400 RPM 128MB of SDRAM, 19 inch monitor etc.) but this is about you not me lol. However about the computer all I gotta do is... *drools* That's a sweet puter man, just be forewarned about the obsolete thing. OH and make sure to get a geforce4 card so you can play Doom 3. *more drool* Damn where's my bib??
Acrylic
WEll, I'm getting the ATI Radeon 9700 pro, thats better than the GeForce 4...check the link at the first post
GUNNER
For the price your paying you could have an Alienware rig or build the same thing for about half. Your paying for tech help and the name, if you don't need either I would call them and say ,oops, my bad.. Keep it and I'll build me own. I built a pretty kick ass rig for about $1200. It's th ebest of everything. While I don'thave a 9700pro i do have a very nice Leadtek 4400. Very nice unit though, just very pricey as well. Acrylic
It is very pricey....I dont know how to build one myself,I'm only 13 , and i dont want an alienware....so, i dunno. guess ill stick with this one.

Acrylic
Maybe take GUNNER's Advice. He says its cheaper to build one, if you know how...I, myself have no idea how.
Tyrion
Geeze, what did you not get??? That's overkill.. Also, you could've made the same computer customly.(abliet, you'd have to look at internet instructions while your doing it..),but it's actually fairly easy(Help my dad when he upgrades mine or his(another good part with a custom one is that you can upgrade it usually without fear)),the wires seem alot more work than it really is,and installing the sound and video card's a sinch, once you know where to install and if it's compatible with your motherboard). And your dad can fund you, which is the greatest part.
GUNNER
I built my first one by reading a how to manual in a PC Gamer magazine. It listed all the parts you needed and then where to start on the assembly. I got just about the exact same parts they used in the magazine. It was very strait forward and you will never learn more then by putting one together. Another added bonus is you know exactly what your getting. You can read about different Mother boards and then buy the one you think is best. Read up about sound cards and then pick the one you think will suit your needs. Then read about the different brands and kinds or ram to determine what you want. Right now you don't even know what brand of Mother board your going get or what chipset it will have. what kind of ram will you have, Mushkin,Corsair,Crucial? What is the CAS setting of the ram. All kinds of variables you wont know when you buy a prebuilt. Right now I have an Asus P4PE board. An Intel 1.8A P4 that will O/C to 2.7ghz. I have 512mg of Corsair XMS 3200DDR ram and I know that eveything else in my box is top notch. Your never to young to learn how to put a PC together and how it all works. Go find a how to book and check it out. You are getting a great PC, it's just that hands on is the way to learn plus the statisfaction of hearing it start up is great. Just start reading up on all the new parts outthere andthen some day just start buying what you can afford.
teutonicknight
You just got ripped off, I'm sorry tell you. When geting a high-end computer, you should really build it yourself. Companys tend to greatly over price high end models.
acdcfanbill
yea, i had a heard attack when i saw the price of it, of course, i despise LCD's also...
mercatfat
$3000 is pretty excessive. Just open up any minitower computer and build your own by copying it. That's pretty much what I did, and it's not that difficult.. of course, that was a while ago. Maybe things are different now. I'd say cut out the DVD burner unless you're into piracy.
