Mort-Hog
Ganeel was exploring an old temple in the lost desert when he came across an old door set into the stone wall. He knew that he had to get the door open, but how? Inside were riches beyond his imagination. Wiping off the dust he read the word 'MRN'. How odd, thought Ganeel, must be in some other language. He read further... the next word seemed to say 'MLMP'. Wow, what an odd language, must have been spoken by an incredibly odd People. Wiping off the last of the dust, Ganeel read the last word - 'MRNM'. Maybe ancient people always spoke with their mouth full! What secret word will allow Ganeel to open the temple door? spoon_man
Hmmm looks to me like the person who wrote it was killed whilst he was carving it in.
Gabez
Maybe it’s friend in elvish? Oh no, wait... Maybe it’s just missing some vowels, y’know? Hmm... no, that doesn’t seem to work either. Maybe... it's the sound of an animal, and he has to bring that animal over to the door? Hmm...
QueZTone
it is suspicious that there arent any vowels tho..

Alien426
I was going to suggest that 'MRN' means 'M are N', but that would leave us with 'NLNP' and 'NRNN'... and where do we go from there?
sheaday6
hell, if the door is so old, why doesn't he kick it down
Feral
I looked at it logically, but Mort said it isn't an adventure game. So I started looking at code words... I came up with this, and I think its right. M = A. R = B. N = R. L = C. P = D. This give you ABR ACAD ABRA, or Abracadabra .
RicardoLuigi...
Whoa. How did you figure that out?

QueZTone
okay i dont want to flame but i just cant believe Chicken figured that out.. okay M = A, then the R = B, ok you can 'think' such when trying solve the mystery. But why do you say N = R? The logical thing would to think that N = C okay there's one possible way tho, he thought of the word 'abracadabra' as a word to open the door and he worked his way to that Chicken, shed some light please =]
Alien426
IMHO it's a pretty dumb riddle. How could you find out that those 3 words are actually one? From there it would be quite obvious that M is most likely a vowel... How lame is it to simply replace some letters with other letters? One would expect a description leading to the secret word... ...like this: This thing all things devours Birds, beasts, trees, flowers Bites iron, knaws steel Turns hard stones into meal Slays kings, ruins town Brings high mountains down I'm aware that most of you already know the answer. elTee
Yeah, but if the thought "it must be time" came into your head, you wouldn't dismiss it saying "time? is that a 'thing'?" would you?
Feral
After Mort said it wasn't an adventure game, I thought it was Roman Numerals or some old language, but that didn't work. I started thinking it could be a code word. I started with the age-old "open sesame", but there was no correlation between the letters. I noticed that the number of letters (in both the letter sequence and the word "abracadabra") matched; 11 in each, so I went from there.
