greedo626 Posted April 13, 2003 Author Posted April 13, 2003 Timeline is a really good book. I was going to post about it but I forgot. there were so many unexpected things in that book (which is what made it good). I'm really lucky. I work at remote storage for all the libraries in south east PA. I work alone or with my brother so I can listen to books on tape while I put books away... and get paid for it:D ... me so lucky:D

Lets hope the do it right, and not have a "Lost World" on our hands;)
Sam Fisher Posted April 13, 2003 Posted April 13, 2003 Supposedly Ender's game is going to be made into a movie...visit Orson Scott Card's Homepage to check it out. EDIT: Fixed Link.
ckcsaber Posted April 13, 2003 Posted April 13, 2003 ^ link doesn't work. :/ Anyways, I think Haley Joel Osmit (sp?) would play the perfect Ender. (Kid from 6th sense)

The_true_lynk Posted April 13, 2003 Posted April 13, 2003 timeline, because its a really good book to read!
Reborn Outcast Posted April 14, 2003 Posted April 14, 2003 The Hobbit and the LOTR Trilogy are must reads. The Thrawn Series (Amazing Stuff)

I completly forgot about "Sphere". It really was horrible, and Dustin Hoffman didn't help...

Jedi Apprentice Posted April 14, 2003 Posted April 14, 2003 Originally posted by Hèkx Nòxú Everyone, including me, should read the LOTR novels. Including The Hobbit. They are....my.....favorite......books.....ever. Also I have enjoyed the Arthurian Legends, and some of the Star Wars EU. I've never got in to Tom Clancy books before.....

StormHammer Posted April 14, 2003 Posted April 14, 2003 Here are a few more good reads if you're into SF... The Mote In God's Eye, Dream Park by Larry Niven Fade Out by Patrick Tilley Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. D.ick (made into the film Blade Runner) The Engines Of God by Jack McDevitt The Stone God Awakens by Philip Jose Farmer The Deathworld trilogy by Harry Harrison The Skylark, Lensman and Lord Tedric series by E.E. 'Doc' Smith - (Lord Tedric and the Iron Sphere is a rip-off of Star Wars, BTW). Who Goes There? a short story by John W. Campbell on which The Thing was based. The Antenna Syndrome by Alan Marks - it's like a weird PI gig, and for some reason I just found it immensely entertaining. Invasion Of The Body Snatchers by Jack Finney Any of the Aliens novels (not the ones based on the films, but the extended universe) are also a good read. I also used to enjoy the Fargo (soldier of fortune) stories by John Benteen And if you haven't read them...go and read the original James Bond novels by Ian Fleming - because they can be quite different from the movies. I obviously spent far too much time browsing through second-hand book shops in my youth.

MuRaSaMuNe Posted April 14, 2003 Posted April 14, 2003 It was the best of times... it was the worst of times..... Rainbow Six is a kick ass book. Anyone read the book "I, Cyborg"? Apparently some guy hooked his input/output signals from his brain over the net and controlled a robotic arm in the UK.

Reborn Outcast Posted April 14, 2003 Posted April 14, 2003 Did anyone hear the story that JRR Tolkien's son released another book to be published that he found in JRR's basement?
