I just watched the Narrative Movie (downloadable at swgalaxies.net), and I must say this game looks great! The grass looks amazingly lifelike, as does the weapon and explosion effects and the characters.

Personally, if I can somehow get my hands on SW: G, I'll get my hands on SW: G. It looks like it has everything a SW fan could want from an RPG-game (except space flight, which will be added later).

That's too much for me!! Pounds don't tell me much, since the exchange rate is very very high and I would pay more for something in pounds that somone in England...

But I'd only play it if:

- Everyone says it great fun, it doesn't get boring soon etc.

- The game doesn't cost more than €45, including 1 month free play

- The monthly cost isn't higher than €5...

If that's the case, I'd play it for like half a year (that makes €75, expensive enough!!)...

MMORPG looks really attractive to me, especially one set in the SW universe, but it's just too expensive and that spoils it for me. I was in the neocron beta and it was great, because it was free. Unfortunately the game became pretty boring after a while, since it was very repetitive and it was all about who got the most skillpoints  I fear the same for SW:G

But where did you download that movie?? Couldn't find it!!

I really don't see it necessary for it to be so dear.. if you pay £30 for a game and then just £10 a year then, it is more likely that more people will buy it which means more money. So if they lower the monthly thing or make it yearly, more people will buy iy meaning that they will probably make the same amount of money out of the Retail price rather than the subscription. That's just my theory though :)

Man, I hate it when good MMORPGs gets ruined by monthly payments. I mean, most other games has totally free internet play, even games that focus on MP. Many people can't afford or simply doesn't want (like me) to pay monthly payments for a game. The total cost can get up to many times the price of a normal game.

A game should be payed for once, and that's it. I hate the concept of paying any more.

Yeah that's like going to a feminist convention and start shouting "WHY DON'T Y'ALL GO TO THE KITCHEN AND MAKE ME SOME PIE!!" :D:p

But yeah, I see why they charge monthly fees for those MMORPGs, the servers are huge and they need huge amounts of bandwith. With normal MP games, 3rd party organizations start dedicated servers, not the developers or something...

But still, $20 / €20 is A LOT of money  They must want to make a hell of a lot money with this game :(

Really? Last time I checked, Warcraft 3 was more popular for internet play than most MMORPGs, and their servers are all free.

Am i right in saying that there is a monthly subscription thingy like planetside.

Yes. And seeing bandwith isn't covered by taxes or slave labour, it has to be that way.

Oh, and to see the movie, go to the Media section (fastest way to find it is to hit CTRL+F and search for "Media":)).

I don't know if I'll get it or not. There's the subscription fee, so I won't be playing it every month for sure:D.

It looks awesome, though. I hope to be in the Final Beta.

Warcraft 3 isn't an MMORPG.......and therefore their servers are not as bandwidth taxing. You'll never see 20 players in one Warcraft 3 game, whereas there will be hundreds in one Galaxies server.....makes a difference.
