Can you say, "Public Humiliation?"

Recommended Posts

Ok, for those of you that don't read the comic strip Penny Arcade, Gabe posted this Video.

I won’t lie to you. I have fought off my share of imaginary dark Jedi in my parent’s basement using only a broom stick and some light saber noises. I did not however videotape it. God bless this poor son of a bitch. His public humiliation might be the funniest thing I see all year.

I hought the video was hilarious! Some people even put in the lightsaber effects in the second video!

That kid is so ruined

Bad form.

Look at you, making fun of that poor kid! His public embarrassment is now going across the internet and being viewed by millions of strangers, most of them laughing at him. And it isn't friendly laughter now, is it?

I'm not saying it's wrong to chuckle when you see something like that--it's human nature. It should stop there, though, when a more sensible part of yourself feels sorry for him.

Sure, he's a complete stranger. But what if he wasn't? What if he were such a Star Wars fan that he joined this forum and began posting here with us? Would any of you now making fun of him be able to 'look him in the eye' (as it were) and feel good about this cruel laughter?

Hmph.

Waaaaa-aaaah! *(Runs out, bawling like a Powerpuff Girl.)*

:D No...in truth, in a lightsaber battle I would leave Darth Maul standing in the corner with his pants around his ankles, sucking his thumb and shivering at the blank horror of it all.

Banzai! *(Draws a samurai sword and cuts his own hair, replacing it back in the scabbard too quickly to be seen clearly.)* See? Zoom=Papa-san. ;)

So why did I say what I did earlier? I admit it was a little harsh, but sometimes the path to becoming a good person is grown over so heavily that it can't be seen well at times, and I would make that path more obvious (with fire, if necessary) even though it is always one's own choice which direction to take. Anyone see Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eight Dimension? In that movie, Buckaroo stands up for a drunk lady at one of his rock concerts, against the jeers of the crowd, by reminding everyone, 'Hey, don't be mean. There's never any reason to be mean. Because, remember--no matter where you go...there you are.'

well, its our obligation as a viewer to laugh at him. He's the fool who not only recorded himself being a fool, but also somehow got the damn thing on the net.

On top of that someone remxing the video with proper sound ans special effects. :D

In truth, I found it more sad to watch than funny, cause I know how embarrassed the kid must've been...

Especially once he realised he was holding it by its 'blade' XD ...Ohhh, I'm cruel... But such is life ^_^
