Thrik
I never said the mods disliked you, I said that they obviously can't aprove of it if they're closing lots of different topics (as implied by Natty in a previous post). And I'm fully aware that I cannot have everything, but I at least need to get it off my chest. Thanks for your mature response to my posts NiKo, I really appreciate it. You people can do what you wish, I'll just try to ignore it from now on. Perhaps we should have a second off-topic forum for actual discussions where spam like "WOT SWEAR WORD R U??" and such isn't allowed - that'd solve the problems and you guys would still have your harbour. Joshi
Oh yes! Chicke Supreme! I'm gonna go get my eats on. oh and my previous post was wrong at one point, it was 48 posts in less than 24 hrs, althought hat was at the time. this post here now makes it 50. Fig! thirk posted just before me,. that now make this post 51. And I agree with Thrik (), a second forum may do well. Or how about a spam forum. that way we can keep a lot of people in the harbor and stuff like the porno stuff and 'what swear word are you' would be in the spam forum where people can still hold the kinds of conversations they want and still have intelligent conversations that a lot of people want in the harbor. Well, how bout it. then we can have a rule that no epidemics of thread closing in the spam forum. And Thrik, sorry about what I said before. Very true, you do have a right to express your opinion on the people here, I apologise. Okay, so now taking bets on when people think this will all be over. I've got £20 on next tuesday. Darth Groovy
Ok, am I the only one that thinks that Neil Joshi should be a mod here at the Harbor? *donates the remainder of his points to Neil Joshi for the sincerity, and honesty of his last two posts in this thread* BTW, I assure you... this IS all over! Yufster
I thought Neil WAS a mod here at first. He's that 'voice of reason' type. Seemed logical. I discovered something today. There seems, at one point in the history of this forum, to have been a 'merging' of two forums, and somewhat like Ireland and Northern Ireland, there is some kind of tension between the two and underlying hatred? So, uh, could somebody explain?
Joshi
What, and get all that respect? by the way, for anyone who didn't get it, that was sarcasm, cause at the moment, they don't seem to be getting the respect they do deserve. But yeah, what could I really do. What power does a mod have, lets see. They have the power to, umm... close threads! hey, that sounds cool! I also get to move things around and edit peoples posts. In other words I can piss people off to the third degree. Seriously though, it's a nice thought, but that's really a desicion for the admin and personally, I think we've got enough mods at the moment anyway. Whatever I could do as a mod here, could also be done my the current mods here and if need be, will be done because that's why they were chosen, to do their job to the best of their degree. remember, these people were chosen very carefully by the admin (who also didn't become admin because of a popularity contest) to do their job. they know what they';re doing, even if they do have dissagreements some times, that just makes them human. Nice thought though, thanks for that (no credits needed). and Obi-wan. you're not going to believe this, but i'm having pizza for dinner tonight. just thought i'd let you know. *edit* no need to double post Yufster It wasn't actually too long ago, about a month or so before you joined actually, sometime in february. Before then, I was part of a forum called escapemi forums which was a sub-forum to lucasforums. Mixnmojo forums also had a small Monkey Island forum where different people went and that doubled as the scummbar's forum. And finally, there was the brime stone beach club forum which wasn't part of LF, but it's site was hosted by mojo. planning started ages ago and in feb, they initiated their plan and merged all the forums into what you see before you. NiKo
Originally posted by Thrik Thanks for your mature response to my posts NiKo, I really appreciate it. well FORGIVE me, but you pretty much annoyed the crap out of me with that attitude. and yes, i know my response was childish, but this isnt exactly the most mature argument anyway. Thrik, you left the forums ages ago,you came back just to say that we should all leave the forums because our behaviour doesnt fit your style. is that mature? so maybe you didnt burst out like me, but that doesnt make you any more mature than anyone else here. Actually, that's only partly true. TSB forums have been around since about 1997 in some form or another, hosted both at Mojo and TSB itself (twice). Most of those forums have been lost in time, and probably wouldn't have been importable anyway, which is too bad since there were some... uh... "good" threads there. (Huz can probably mention some classics ¬) The real planning of a larger MI forum started just before LucasForums cranked up with Mojo and LucasGames merging, but were put on hold for a while. The Mojo/TSB forum that was around for a few months was kinda a way of baby-stepping it all together.
Thrik
I don't want you to leave the forums at all, I just want to be able to visit and not have a loads of spam thrown into my face. Whether that is done by you guys stopping it, or another forum being brought in where the spam isn't allowed (as myself and Neil duel-suggested above) I don't mind. And as a side note, I never left. I was just watching.

Al-back from the BigWhoop
from Darth Groovy Since you are a mod, you should set an example for others. you are assuming regular members are 3 years old. i mean, i can assure you that my "rolemodel" would never be a LF mod or smod. ¬ ¬ But apart from that, i am very greatefull you saw the other side of the issue and apoligized. thx man, i respect you for that, and for that i am gratefull. and im kinda starting to agree with neil, although, i think it would be hard for every1 to decide what is spamtopic material and what is harbor material. we would end up getting forums moved from harbor to spamtopic and vice versa and then back... but im sure we can all find a solution to that. I would hope someone you meet online would not be your role model. The point of being a mod is to maintain the peace. Carl flamed someone. What if, someone replied with a flame. And it kept going. I would harldy call that maintaining the peace.
Al-back from the BigWhoop
well Z, when i said that, i was refering to the sentence "Since you are a mod, you should set an example for others." you can imagine that because i used that quote in my post
