Window Tinting

For those of you who have cars...drive or know about them. I am going to go this weekend...or even today if I decide and get my windows on my rolla tinted. I have a 2003 Corolla S, Indigo Blue. I was trying to decide on tinting them either 20% all the way around or 35% all the way around or 20 in back and 35 in front. CA law is no tint in front and whatever you want in the back. Everyone does it anyways...and I want the car to be COOL because I have an ALL black interior and the baby is melting!

Why not paint your interior white? :D

Seriously though...will tinting your windows make that much difference to the internal temperature of your car? If it does, go for 35%, I'd say...and get something to put on the inside of the windows to keep the sun off your baby. And something reflective to put inside where the windscreen is when the car is parked (I know from experience they can get like ovens on hot days). Always park in the shade, too. That helps. Last resort, get a battery powered fan that you can lodge somewhere to keep a cool flow of air going around your baby.

Hope some of that helps...

Yes, the tinting will reflect the rays of the sun instead of allowing them to pass through the glass, and because of the way that Glass' natural resonance and UV rays work together, the less sun that is passed through the window = less heat.

Go for 35% if you live in CA.....it's damn hot there.

well i checked into it. the guy tried talking me into "reflective 100% metal" tint. Since...I looked EVERYWHERE to find a car with this on it...and couldn't. I have no idea what it looks like. Does anyone have a pic of a car w/ this reflective tint...I think it looks like a mirror...and I think it might look stupid but it is the best as far as heat resistance.
