Ride Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 I voted STAY, because we have everything planned out, and just because we cannot go there right away does not mean we cannot stick to our plans. Allow those of us to get a feel for the game, then when Starstrider opens, we can go there fully prepared. If we do that, we could have our PA City up within a week or two, if the architects build up their skills fast enough.
Murashu Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 I vote move. After playing EQ for almost 4 years I have seen the negative impact of moving to an overcrowded server on day 1. If the server starts out overcrowded it never gets better, more and more people join it because they have friends and thier friends join and so on and so on. Full servers mean more crashes, more lag, more competition. And I know SWG is a huge place (I actually got to make my character and do some combat today) but no matter where you go to find a place to be alone and do your resource gathering or hunting, some jerk always seems to find you and decide he wants to move in on your area hehe.
Donnie Darko Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 I voted stay because while we wait for Starsider we can all take our sweet time getting used to the gameplay, interface, starting profession, commands, locations, starting missions, and so on so when Starsider does open we won't be "in the dark" about the game.

Sunshine Badass Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 It is actually in our benefit, Murashu, that Starsider is opened later, becasue it reduces the amount of people flooding into it. Many will get impatient and just start out in some other server, i.e. "The flamer/ trolling players who do not particularly care what server they are on." The dedicated players who are smitten with Starsider already will wait for it, and becasue we all waited for it, the Starsider server players have a common bond: "We were patient and waited, let us not ruin the server for others." The game oriented and trolling players will have already settled down on other servers. As we sneak in the back door, less idiots notice that we, the Starsiders, are even around, and therefore leave us alone. P.S. This COULD be worded a LOT better, but I believe it gets the point across.

Opa Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 I say move, It will be a pain to switch main characters when starsider does come up... or actually now I am kinda changing my mind, When starsider does come up alot of the RP people in swg will quickly move in there and the counter-strike lamers will (hopefully) just stay where they are making our gaming expieriance alot nicer I dunno anymore I say stay
dow_30 Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 I would like to argue in favor of moving. I am in beta now, and grinded my way to droid engineer kicking and screaming. A number of us plan on being Architecs, weaponsmith, or other crafters for the PA. It makes zero sense for us to make and destroy (or sell what you can but don't get your hopes up) stuff and then start over a week later. People will get burned out , trust me. After making droids for a week now, I shudder to think of going back to making 1,112 bofa treats to get to the next level.It is all well in good for the combat classes because they can hunt anywhere and starting over is no big deal. I implore everyone to switch to another sever. I want to play my "real" character from day one, not a week later. If that was the case, why did I preorder? Please take this into consideration leaders.

Why don't you make a fighter(or whatever you want) on another server and have some fun screwing around? Since you probablly already know what u are going to be then just go screw around on the other server. I don't think anyone that is planning to stay at Starstrider is going to make a serious character on the other servers unless they are just tweaking the one they are going to make in Ss. Either way I think we should stay because we have it all planned and perhaps this is a benifet, getting rid of all the power-gammers. ~SK~
