Since the game comes out tomorrow [or Today depending upon when you read this] what are you going to do? Anything?

I'm getting it for sure! :D After work tomorrow I plan on picking up my version of the collectors edition of the game! :D

I was so happy to be a part of beta and now I can't wait to play the game live! :D

Bounty Hunter here I come! :D

This will also provide a great distraction for me when all of the kotor spoilers will be around..x.x

Yep, I got them....along with everyone else. x.x It's that type of game, they couldn't test subscription server they used....but hey, that's the way it goes. I'm in now though so I'm not worried. :)

I started thinking about the monthy fee and I realized that it will actually be cheaper for me to get this game and play it, rather then just buy games. I have a 6 month subscription [7 actually, the first one is free] and it's going to cost me $77 - which is just a little bit more then the average cost of one game is......so they way I see it, this will save me money and prevent me from buying boring games. This one will keep me busy for a long time to come. :)

No, I will not be getting SWG. Yes the game looks awesome, and will probably play awesome too, but I just cannot bring myself to pay a monthly fee to play any game, not when there are so many other great games on the market.

Hmmm, which would those be? I know of awesome games coming out sometime this late summer/fall etc...but nothing really for right now.

Note - Kotor doesn't count for me since I can't get it til the fall. ;P

I'm going to buy it after a month or so, by that time most of the problems will be sorted out and the game will be running smoothly.. It's a shame you can't use vehicles at first... I'm a big fan of MMORPGs, 53 Mage on Everquest (Quit a long time ago) and a 30ish Mercenary on Dark age of Camelot(Still active).. If it's any better than EQ than it'll be worth it. SOE has always had launch problems with their games, When Mythic released DAoC I don't remember many problems.

This MMORPG will be widely popular amongst hard-core fans (who do nothing but sit around all day and think star wars) just because it has a star wars label on it and you take on role in the SW universe, and thats stinkin cool!!! BUT that does not mean that I will get it because it has a $15 buck monthly fee! Thats three lunches out the window! Not to mention you have to pay 50 bucks for the game, so I stand behind what others have said

Having recently seen a very nice movie of SWG, my mindset has changed from it somewhat. I would live to give the game a try, but two things (credit card & stable income) are currently withholding me from buying it.

Then again, I always have NWN for my online RPG experience :D

On second thought...

No.

Can't come to grips with it...I can't justify wasting money monthly on a game I *already* own. That's what turns me off about MMORPGs....:(

I'm more willing to buy other games...I'll wait for KoTOR. :D

I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and had my hand on the box and was prepared to take it to the counter.

But then those exact thoughts went through my mind.

There are too many other great games I want to blow my money on. :D

I'll just listen to everyone tell me how great it is.

Granted, there aren't that many out atm, but in the very near future (next couple of months), there will be some awesome games to play. Half Life 2, Jedi Academy, KOTOR etc etc. In the mean time, I'm playing all my old games.

Just stop and think for a moment. Just exactly how much will you end up spending on this game? Will you not have just as much fun playing KOTOR and JA? How much time are you willing to spend playing it? It will take over your life.

I posted this before but I'll do it again since this has come up again.

I can't see myself paying for something monthly that when I decide I'm done, I don't have anything to show for it. MMORPGs take a lot of time and effort. What's all that time and effort leading up to? Once you decide to quit your done no college degree, no car, no raise, nothing.

I'd much rather play a game that I can play 1-2 hours a day and finish in a month or two. Then if I want I can play it later and know that I can stop anytime and not feel left behind.

That's my opinion on MMORPGs. If I was in high school I might feel different. But when I look back 5 years from now I don't want to have memories of killing a Krayt dragon.

I got to level 53 in EQ (cap was 60) and it took about a year or so, but I'm not much of hardcore gamer. It's really a self control thing, if you can't stop after an hour or two than you really shouldn't play MMORPGs. It's like learning how to play guitar, not really how to play but how to practice. If you manage your hour and a half of playing time wisely, you can get a ton of stuff accomplished and improve yourself. If you don't know how to manage your time you could be one of those people who is on for upwards of 16 hours a day and doesn't even get anything done because they don't understand how to manage their time and properly play the game. If you put in 2 quality hours of gameplay, then you can accomplish more than someone who does three or four times that. If you understand how to play and the monthly fees don't bother you than MMORPGs can be alot of fun.
