Today, I nearly fainted...

Let's start at the start. Some time ago, I bought the game Silent Hill 3 for PS2, and I thought, what the heck, I'm gonna try writing a walkthrough on it. Well, it went pretty well, I posted it on some big sites like GameFAQs, and I got only possitive reactions, everyone seemed to like it. Two weeks ago, I submitted the last update, and I went on vacation with the idea that it was over and done...

Then this morning, I read my mail, and there was an email from Gamespot, in which they made an offer to buy the rights to my walkthrough for...

$500!!!

With the low dollar, it would mean around 440 euro, but still an amazing sum for someone like me. Especially because I made the walkthrough for fun, and I had a lot of fun with writing it. So basically I get over 400 euros for something I like doing. Life is great :D

Sorry if this sounds like braggind to you, I'm just overwhelmed with joy. I think I'm going to spend some money now. Rich dude out :

If you'll excuse me now, I'm off to write a walkthrough for Vice City.....just for fun, of course.

You're too late... There's already a *damn* good walkthrough for it.

Man, they actually pay for it? That never occured to me, but it makes sense I guess. I should start writing walkthroughs. :¬:

Also, if I ever need it, I'll make sure to use your walkthrough when SH3 is released here. ;

Just out of curiousity, what kind of walkthrough was it? I mean, just a step by step guide of what to do, or a huge database of every single item, character, and location, with information on sub-quests, blah, etc?

Wow, that's a lot for just a walkthrough. I bet if they asked nicely you would have given it to them for free, heh. Maybe they're planning to publish it and make millions of dollars and you'll be kicking yourself for selling it for a mere $500. ;

Also I pressume this is it. Looks good btw - very indepth and all that.

Two summer jobs and full time work for a year and what do I have to show for it? £1500 (giving rise to the factr that my very first £160 paycheck was spent on my very first DVD player and I now have over fifty DVD's to play on it, otherwise it would be a nice £2500 by now), you write a Walkthrough and that's an easy 400 euros for you. There is no justice.

But congrats anyway. :D

Whoa, cool! $500? Who *cough* I mean what are you gonna spend it on? ;) BTW - I really want an iPod. :p Just to through it out there....

Hey heres my plan = make something bound to be valuable that you dont want, and bam, people but it! :)

I just feel bad if you sell something you liked. :(

Cool, I got mentioned.

Anyway, I was pretty surprised by all the positive reactions. Off course, I was hoping my FAQ'd be a success, but even I coudln't expect it to be this big. It's kind of fun, being like the number one expert on Silent Hill 3. Anyway, gtg now, working on another FAQ. For Futurama this time. You never know.

Btw: *waiting for HL2 too. And for Deus Ex 2 and Thief*

NICE bro! I'll be sure to read the thing if I get the game...

...speaking of which. I've been wanting to get the game, and I was wondering if it's worth all that money? I tend to love survival horrors and all that, but I'm a little uneasy about actually putting the money out and playing the sucker.

Deadmeat...worth it? I mean, REALLY?
