BCanr2d2
It has it's issues, it can't be played with FSAA (Full Screen Anti-Aliasing) turned on. A trick that they used to help for speed on lower machines exposes a flaw/shortcoming of DirectX 9. So, it won't be as graphically stunning as everyone is expecting. Tyrion
I thought they fixed that? Besides, the movies didnt have AA or FSAA(not sure on FSAA) in them, and they still looked good.
StormHammer
I don't usually play with FSAA anyway, so I couldn't care less. I do think Tyrion is right though...I believe in a recent article they said that they'd fixed it, so it should no longer be an issue.

People were saying 'if they don't get FSAA I won't buy it!' Really? Good riddance! I consider myself very excited as it is in my top 5 'most wanted' despite HL1 not making my FPS all-time top 10. It looks gorgeous ... and the physics are spectacular. The graphics are very good, and they seem to have figured a way to compromise to still have the great faces and motion, yet not have as demanding a spec as Doom3. Of course, the videos show blocky fingers and bodies compared to other 'advanced' engines. But who cares - it looks great! My concern is gameplay. Good physics != good game. We've seen nothing new since E3 (all of these 'new' videos are just rehash), and what we've seen looks good, but most of what we've seen is monsters, and monsters can be boring (see Elite Force II). I hope they mix it up well - I have a very good feeling from what I've seen. Mike
