Okay, what do you--the common populace and swirling mob of Aresen--think on this most important matter:

Should Areseners be instructed to carry duct tape? :dozey:

Well, I say yes. :D Considering we fly around in pressurized spacecraft at constant risk of micrometeoroid collision, the usefulness of such an item in any damage control locker would seem obvious. In addition to stopping a hull breach, this miracle product also has 1,000,000,001 other uses...

Real life duct tape stories!

The Great Gasleak: I used to have an old '78 VW bus. One day, as I was driving around town, I suddenly smelled gasoline. Being a *safety first* kind of guy, I immediately pulled over and checked the engine. Sure enough, one of the twenty year old rubber gas lines had cracked, and was spraying gas all over the place when the engine ran.

I reached for my handy roll of--you guessed it--duct tape and wrapped the leaky line, then carefully drove to the nearest mechanic for a proper fix. Without duct tape, my engine might have caught on fire...or worse! :D Duct tape saved the day.

Later, I remembered an incident that happened fourteen years earlier, when I was a wee lad. My mom had woken me up, and apparently still dreaming I went to my book case (about the exact size and shape as a VW engine compartment) and proceeded to look for 'a gas leak.' When I woke up, I had no idea what I'd been talking about. Coincidence? ;)

No duct tape for you!: I used to work with a guy who had a somewhat...shadey past. One day I was clearing off a table, and went to hand him a roll of duct tape that I assumed was his.

He looked at it somewhat nervously. 'Sorry, but I can't have that.'

'Why?' I had to hear this...

'I tied somebody up with duct tape once, and part of my sentencing involved a court injunction that I could never again have possession of a roll of it. If they catch me with it, I could go to jail. Just like getting caught with a gun.'

Well. :) I will assert my free rights, then, and proudly carry duct tape with me wherever I go. Furthermore...I think the rest of you should be required to carry it as well.

:max: Vote now!

another 'real life' duct tape story is:

my water bottle ran leck during a field mission.. and being out to the woods without any water can be quite.. difficult.. so i used my DUCT TAPE to seal it.. so it would have saved my life if it was a REAL mission..

..

and if you are using duct tape at the right place.. ANY pantee will fit perfectly to your booty.. :dozey: ..

so i always wear duct tape!

Important safety note: Kids, don't try that at home or you might sprain something!

:D

So far, two people have succumbed to Cracken's Jedi mind trick, three people were wearing duct tape at the time they voted, someone thinks ducks are sexy and someone wants a pizza.

:dozey: Gee, Lynk. Looks like it might be time to add another rule to your Aresen 'noobie rules list.'

(And perhaps a warning against nipple contortion in the Aresen 'boobie rules list.') ;)

We fly around in space? I always thought we lived on an island called "Aresen". Hmm..:p

But duck tape,eh. I think it's so big because everyone watched Macguyver when they were a kid.:p I prefer scottape.

So,naturally,I'll say I like ducks.:D

That's use #452,664--use duct tape to restore the physical trackability of compact disc digital storage mediums.

Not to be confused with #8,750...which is to restore the pristine continuity of celluloid magnetic tape storage mediums.

:D*(Points to the ground.)* Is this a tangent? Of course it is--the world is round, after all.
