These days there's also DREAMM, Aaron Giles's "bespoke emulator for LucasArts games". Unlike ScummVM, it emulates enough of DOS, Windows and FM Towns to run the original EXE files which in theory means it should run EMI without bugs. Though I've had problems with some lines of dialog being skipped. Your mileage may vary.

To play Escape from Monkey Island on a Mac, you can use ResidualVM, which is designed for 3D adventure games like this one. Though it's not perfect and might have some bugs, it's your best bet for running the game on a Mac. Alternatively, you could try playing the PS2 version using a PS2 emulator like PCSX2, which might offer a more stable experience. The PS2 version is generally similar to the PC version but has some minor differences in graphics and controls. Choose based on your preference for either potential minor bugs (ResidualVM) or a different control setup (PS2 emulator).

Did you check the other DOTT boxes? Like Xbox or other? You can search at the top of the first link I put in my post above. The DOTT Xbox collectors box is still in stock and has like all the same extras.

I fully agree with your post. A different box design would've helped to differentiate the remastered version from the original . The poster that uses this design (sans the cigar) looks fantastic and has the right brightness/contrast values. However, since they did use the original box art for the most part, it should look identical to the original.

I personally would have left the Rebel Assault II cover art off my non-adventure honourable mentions, for a reason you can probably guess from the rest of my list!

I'd like to add Rebel Assault 2 to the list, which is another of Eaken's greats. They could have gone for a 3D-rendered one, like the X-Wing/TIE Fighter games, but luckily they doubled down on the "live action" aspect of the game, giving it the full movie poster treatment, including the actors' likenesses.

Oh yeah, I was going to give Outlaws and Dark Forces honourable mentions! Rebel Assault and Pipe Dream aren't in the Remasters thread so I didn't see them originally but looking at them now I agree, very effective too.

A good list, enjoyed hearing what about them spoke to you personally. I know you limited it to adventures but man there are some winners in the rest of the catalog. Dark Forces, Rebel Assault, are both really iconic compositions that are representative of their eras of gaming in a very fast-moving time. The Outlaws box is a real stylistic outlier in the world of retail covers. Afterlife is one I’ve always respected more than loved, kind of like the game itself. Pipe Dream looks like an arcade game because it basically is - it’s effortlessly iconic in that arcadey way that’s actually hard to achieve. I dont think any of these hold a candle to the adventure greats, but there are a bunch of good ones in the mix.
