    Acklay

    Would it be possible for someone to make an Acklay for me, or something similar, out of a Kinrath model? The Acklay is the spider thing from The Clone Wars in the Geonosian Arena.
  3. I don't think that's a good idea. My reasoning is that if you take this course right now you will see a drastically different quality in work from the beginning to the end (which should get better and better).
  4. I hate to tell you this, believe me because I did the exact same thing you are doing now. I wanted to create a monster project, a Total Conversion (sequel) to the KOTOR games. To make this short, quick, and to the point, learn the small things such as how to make items, creatures, placeables, reskin, possibly model, and modules. Figure out how the physics and mechanics of the game work. It took me about 8 months (and I stopped for a time) to learn how to do almost everything to start my own planet. My best advice, is learn how to do this stuff, release mods to gain a reputation, then start working on a big project like a new planet or a Total Conversion. Sorry, don't mean to rain on your parade but you'll either be disappointed with somebody like me or going on waiting for help and never receiving it. Just follow my advice, learn the basics and work your way up.

  6. Does anybody know of any modules cut or ones that free for the public for TSL besides the two HK factory and the seven M4-78 modules.

  12. I'm not sure but you can go to http://www.starwarsknights.com and download a fresh copy of the dialog.tlk there.
  13. Well I can say if you are working with TSL, then you won't see the scripts in the dialog files; something that Obsidian did. But I do believe that there was a mod, part of the TSL Resotration Mod, that went back and somehow got them to appear. If you install that mod in theory you should be able to check the scripts. Now this is only secondary knowledge, I've never tried it; just heard about through a friend. Hope this helps.

  15. Thanks, but would you by any chance know of which exact droid or appearance entries are the creepy droids you're talking about. At this point I'm working on a big project that I cannot go back through the game and check out things.
  16. I can live with just having a droidika that walks around on three (that can vary) legs and can use guns; anything else is just a bonus.

If my logic is serving me correctly this project is entirely doable, though it will be very time consuming because I believe you will change every single dialog file not only by adding the VOs but making a two parts for every piece of dialog; an example follows: -----Regular Version----- Revan - Hello, how are you NPC - I'm fine thank you -----Revan's VOs----- Revan - Hello, how are you (dialog choice) Revan Male Conditional Dialog - Hello, how are you (VO) Revan Female Conditional Dialog - Hello, how are you (VO) NPC - I'm fine thank you According to my logic for every choice Revan is able to make, it would require in reality two copies of the original entry. I'm not trying to stop you from doing this, I'm just telling you a way in order to do it. In fact I encourage you to complete this, but only if you are willing to complete; I personally think it will be one of the better mods out there if you can pull it off. I'm just saying this due to your being a new person in modding KOTOR.
  18. For example... When I first started to mod KOTOR I wanted to create a whole TC which would become the 3rd KOTOR game. Obviously because I didn't have the skills and reputation necessary I couldn't gather a team or convince somebody to start working on it. Now if I were SilverEdge (I'm thinking of the author of the BOS and SR) it would be must more easier to gather the people necessary in order to construct the new TC. I'm just saying for Johnathon-Mk II to go through with this would simply require him to spend about 6 months figuring everything out and getting use it and then gather other in order to build this mod. I think it would be an awesome idea to do, but like I said earlier Johnathon, I don't mean to sound critical; I simply encourage you to mod because in order to get what you want, generally you have to do it yourself.
  19. Has anybody ever made a mod that integrates the Droidikas or Destroyer Droids into K2? If not would somebody be willing to make it?
  20. As of now making new levels for K1 is impossible; it's hard coded into the game and would require people who actually made the games to break it. Adding new powers and feats - this is doable though difficult because we don't have all of the animations and visual effects from K2. As far as the GUI, you can completely reskin it as well as change where all of the buttons and icons are located. Most of this can be done though I simply recommend that you learn how to do it and make it yourself. In order to get others to help around here (not in all cases) on a major project like this requires you to be somebody in the forums. Don't mean to burst your bubble, just giving you the honest truth.
  21. I'm not sure what fields it is in but you have to edit something in the .are and .ifo files of the module, they alter the intesity of the light. Sorry I couldn't be more useful.
  22. when you're trying to mix and match reskins to items as well as models you can replace that stuff easily. It's when you're trying to make new ones that I kind of get lost; I haven't ventured out into the area mutch, I've mainly worked on NPC (character) appearances.

     

    I can reference you to somebody that could help though, talk to Canderis, he knows a lot about modeling, that's what you're working with.

  24. It should be the same for both K1 and TSL though I personally would rather mod TSL because you simply can do more things with it.
