I've never heard this theory before today. Is it just something that's popped up because people are trying to guess what's going to happen in Return? I saw endless speculation when Twin Peaks The Return came out. Everyone was trying to be the one who "guessed it". It was like a race to predict the turns of the story. The thing is, there's only so many places a story can go. (Sad truth: If you stop a movie halfway, and then sit down with a pen and paper you can usually deduce any twists and turns that are coming -- it doesn't take much effort, it just spoils the experience.) Eventually someone will guess correctly from the sheer law of averages vs possibilities. I don't know if anyone actually guessed what was going on in Twin Peaks Season 3, but I bet someone got close. I know I won't stop speculation, but I reckon eventually (like someone pausing a film and trying to figure out the turns) someone will spoil it for themselves 😬

Detest is a strong word, but sometimes it's not strong enough I replaced my CD version with a blank audiotrack to make sure I never had to listen to it again. Maybe it's just me, but I felt it also undermined Stan's presence in SOMI. Hell the CD version is easily my least favourite version, come to think of it. It introduced so many bugs, too.

Yep. MIDI music was "cheap" in DOS. It had little overheads as the instruments came with the soundcard (which is also why it sounded so awful). The Amiga meant they had to choose the instruments themselves (and load them). I think that's why SOMI sounded so good... someone took the time to find interesting instruments. But 2 was a much bigger beast, and sound was the first to go, apparently.

No missing tunes that I can recall (they added an awful one for Stan in the VGA CD release -- perhaps you're thinking of that?). I don't the music was limited by the Amiga's 4 channels at all. I think it may have been originally written with 4 channels in mind? On an Adlib card from the day it sounds like it has the same number of channels? I wonder if that was on purpose?

Yep. Thankfully I've forgotten a lot of the trailer already and haven't really mentally analysed it. I really want to go in as fresh as I was for Monkey 2, 3, 4 and 5... (Monkey 1 might be the only time in my life where I read about about something and then it exceeded/matched my expectations.)

I think most people would agree that she should have been made more use of Curse, not less. So yes I’d say it’s an unpopular opinion. I do wish they’d used Charity James’s voice in every iteration though. Boyd’s voice just doesn’t have any chemistry with Armato’s.

How strange! My company nearly hired him for a project, too. I had a Zoom call with him and also had to tell him what a fan I was. Sadly we didn't use him, but I think the project would have turned out better if we had.
