Maniac Mansion Deluxe was praised by Ron himself. It's a shame it's so hard to find/run these days, because it basically is the best version of the game.

You're probably right... Makes you wonder: Why take it out of context and use it as one of the rare clips from your game? I think they're deliberately taking clips that don't reveal anything, which is fine by me!

This looks like a callback: We see LeChuck threaten his minions again and again and again... until eventually it just becomes noise. ("blah blah blah... flailed alive... blah blah... keelhauled... blah blah... walk the plank") Like the party dialogue at Elaine's mansion. Except it works better written, I think. The acted version would work better if it faded to black and slowly turned down LeChuck's dialogue if you ask me.

Give me the damn game already! Sorry. Just want to play it so badly...

Yes, the sound of the waves on the dock was actually quite irritating because it was just a CD track. Every time you entered the scene you heard the same ambient noise in the same way. It felt very artificial. Honestly the older I get the more I just like to return to the original work, rather than try to make it into something it was never meant to be. It's OK to have rough edges. It's not a mistake, it's flavour! (There are exceptions to this rule.)

It is for me, but I suppose it's whatever you were introduced to. I can't stand it. (Did I mention that already?)
