Don't do the poor thing down. :~ 7MHz, please.

My current machine is a 1.3GHz Athlon beast. It has a graphics card and some amount of RAM. I hope to keep it forever and ever and become a footnote on the "requirements" page of many excellent gaming sites, eg. "4GHz required; Huz got it working on a 1.3GHz"

Anyhow, my main computer is currently my laptop, which features 2.2ghz, 512mb RAM and a beasty 32mb GeForce4 Go video card. *roarrr* I also play most newer games on consoles instead of PC. :¬:

Hmm...It seems that my computer has blown everyone else's away.

My father bought it for 300 dollars 4 years ago. It's a 600. A .6

It's got 80 GB...something. A nice graphics card that I bough myself and installed myself. It's a beaut. My only pride and joy.

And a very nice set of speakers.

Thats it. Damn.

Athlon Thunderbird 900 MHz

384 Mb RAM

30 Gb hard-drive

SB Live! 1024

ASUS AGP-V7700 (I think that is GeForce 2 GTS, but wouldn't bet on it)

some other stuff, like cd burner, 19" screen, etc.

I don't care if it's a little outdated, it still works. Besides, my main usage being mp3, internet and old lucas-games, I don't really need anything more speedier.

I don't play a lot of newer games and stuff, so my

1ghz intel crapfest

256 mb sdamn

card that came with it

20gb hard drive

...collectively semi-useful pile of rubble does just fine for me. I have MS paint and solitaire; what more could I possibly want? :p

Thanks! :D

Actually, my brother is getting it. He says all he is going to do with it is play Half-Life 2 and DOOM III on it. I don't know why someone would drop $5,500 (american) on a PC to play two games but he figures it will last him a long time.

Your brother's going to overclock it too, right? I'll bet I might be able to beat him in 3DMark2k3 once my new video card/cpu coolers come in next week :)

I've seen people with XP2100+ (1.73 GHz) with my new heatsink and fan combo (SLK-947U and Tornado 119CFM :D ) get up to 2.6 GHz still at a fairly low temp... and im getting heatsinks for my 9800 Pro as well... the Athlon64 FX is a nice chip, but I do not believe either HL2 or Doom3 will be optimized with 64bit instructions, which means that a 2.6 GHz XP may beat out the 2.22 GHz FX  . We'll see, I want your bro to benchmark that baby when you get it tho, cause it outta be incredibly sweet!

- State of the art AMD Athlon K7, 701MHz

- 320 megs of SD-RAM

- Eye-gouging nVidia Riva TNT2, 4megs.

- 60gigs worth of Seagate HDDs

- 4X CD-RW - Burns 80minute CDs in under 80minutes!

Instead of upgrading my system, I give my money to DISEASED CHILDREN and I contribute towards the "Rescue a Drowning Puppy" foundation.

Yeah, you keep your two USB ports, I have 5! well, okay, technically 2, but ones taken up for the external 4 USB's. These are connected to my Broadband modem, my printer/scanner combo and my Wacom Tablet.
