I just got it today and

DFASDGLIAHELG!!!

Firstly, I played it.

Second, I fainted.

Third, I watched the intro again.

Fourth, I made my mom watch it (Look mom! Omg! It's fantastic!)

Fifth, I sent a complete pile of fanatical crap to somebody

Sixth, I fainted

Fourth, I forgot how to count

And Fifth, I burst into tears.

It's so unbelievably beautiful.

I can't believe there are still people who've only just experienced Grim Fandango, or even worse, poor deprived people who haven't played it at all... ¬

The great thing about Grim is that it just keeps getting better. I completed the thing in less than a week because I couldn't stop playing it, and I was so disappointed that it had to end. The endings fantastic though, although I got a bit sick of it after compulsively watching it for the next few days.

Damn it Schafer.

Definitely a Tim Schafer love song is in order. Then I can release an Album! I can call it.... Misunderstood, GATES. Or, Excellent, SCHAFER. Or, SCHAFER GATES. Or BILL SCHAFER. I don't KNOW!!! Suggestions for lyrics here.

CRAP. Does anybody have spare guitar strings?

I first played it only a few weeks ago. It's so great :') I need to make time to play it again but I have so many other adventures sat on my shelf I haven't played yet.

This is my problem too. :~

Once I eliminate the need to sleep, and get rid of other time-wasting activities like leaving the house, all these adventures will be MINE! MINE!

I need to kick my Vice City addiction too. ;(

I sleep with it under my pillow,

I wake with it in the morning,

I spend my evenings under the willow,

Cuddling, whispering and fawing,

You ask who is this stranger, I hear

That makes me warm and safe,

His name is Manny Calavera,

He lives in a CD Jewel Case.

Only just played it? Yufster, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. :( It is excellently good though. Where are you up to now? And whilst we're on the subject, how far into Discworld Noir are you, PTDC? Discworld Noir is great too. It's like Grim Fandango, but more Noirish. Everyone should play it now. Both games. Grim Fandango and Discworld Noir. Yes. But probably Grim Fandango first because it's a better game. But still, Discworld Noir is mighty fine. Just not quite as good. But still great. Yes.

I should get some sleep. :~

Yes. But not for you. ;)

I finished GF a couple of years ago and immediately made everyone I knew who had even just seen or heard about videogames go out and get it and play it right then! All of then thanked me,... although I quickly got fed up with the "Help me I'm stuck!" phone calls at 2am every night.

One of the great all-time classics!

For those of you that don't have it: I see it in Best Buy, CompUSA, and WalMart occasionally on the discount software racks.

That's how I got mine.

I've been really thinking about re-installing it (I was just thinking that this morning as a matter of fact.)

I've seen the game mentioned a couple of times this week: once in a poll of the most underrated games of all time. And another time in a poll of the funniest games of all time also. (The MI series scored high in that poll as well, you'll all be happy to know)

Aah, the wonders of Grim Fandango.

I still humm the Rubacava theme everytime i'm walking alone at night.

as for discworld noir. i was playing it, really liked it, and just as i was in the most exciting part, i upgraded to XP and now THE DAM GAME DOESNT FREAKING WORK!!! AAAHHH!!!!

I need to play an adventure game...i must!! just one more adventure before the army, please, just one more, i promise!

tried playing Gabriel Knight 3, but got stuck in one of the annoying riddles and lost the will to keep playing.

My broken swords CDs never worked on my computer anyway, and i only got to play 1.

DUDES! HEATHENS! OH MY GOD!!

If I could describe how awesome this game was, the english language would be a whole better vernacular. I mean, you don't want to leave it for two seconds. It's so interesting and intriguing and original. Original being very, very operative. Manny is so wonderful, the accents are lovely to listen to and the locations are beautiful. The story is like a fine, fine fine, fine, fine, FINE chocolate. Sweet and chocolatey. It's hilarious, absolutely hilarious, and in some conversations you'll catch very strong hints of Schafers' style of writing and humour. Within the first ten minutes of playing you'll begin to love the characters you've met. The music is beautiful and fits the locations wonderfully, and it's full of animation and movement. The intro scene is the most beautiful, dark and hilarious intro ever in any game I have ever played. It feels like a movie. And again I have to hand it to the voice-actors and Schafers humour... "And that compass in the handle will come in real handy, too! Oh man, you're gonna have such FUN! Ooo, I wish I was going!"

When I say you MUST play this game, I mean you MUST play this game. I mean, seriously. Play this game. I don't care if you have no money. Eat nothing but dry crackers for a few weeks. I don't care if you can't find it in shops; look for it second hand in magazines. Every day you don't play this game, you are gonna have another half hour added to your journey through the Land of the Dead, when your time comes. Buy it today, and you get a ticket on the Number Nine!

Ayep, all I can say is...I agree with Yuf.

I'm in the middle of playing it for the first time right now...have been for about 2 weeks. I have just helped out Glottis with his heart...and am a bit stuck. I dont want hints, cheats, or anything, because I relish a challenge. So far, it's an amazing game.

I'm also in the middle of Sam and Max and Full Throttle for the first time at the moment.

You're stuck on the wheelbarrow puzzle, aren't you!??? HA HA HA!!!!

Although that's where I am even though I've only had it a few days.... :p

I completed the wheelbarrow puzzle, but... I'm sort of stuck with a signpost.

I guess I'm just BETTER than you.

*Carries off her signpost with a smirk*
