wassup
Any other swampies live in the Southern California area? I live in San Diego, California, close to where the I-5 splits into the 805 and I-5 (if anyone knows where that is...) So anyways, in general, how have you been doing? Evacuated yet? I've still got my house (thankfully) and the fire here is still a good 5-10 miles away. Lots of smoke and ash covering the sky, not good for the throat and lungs. I happened to see someone smoking a cigarette while watching the smoke, idiot... So any swampies effected by the fire(s) yet? And how?
Swoosh
I'm in Fullerton in Northern Orange County. Obviously the fire isn't near here...but the smoke and ash has been overwhelming the past few days. Today was actually better (I guess the winds shifted), but yesterday was horrible. I went to Costa Mesa and my shirt was almost covered in ash by the time I left this flee market I was at. It's strange cause if you looked towards the north, the sky was a dirty grey/brown while in the south is was a deep dark orange color....pretty disguisting. Oh yeah, I left my window open last night with a fan blowing in...when I woke up, my desk was covered in ash....makes me wonder what my lungs look like. Tyrion
I live near L.A. county. The sky was really hazy today, it almost felt as if there was acid rain. There was also a BUNCH of ash on the ground, more than I've seen in a long time. I wonder if we'll get a few days off from school this week. I hope they wont have to declare a health emergancy, though. :/
Chastan
I'm up here a little north in Santa Barbara, it even smells up here. It looked a little "brown" when I was driving in Oxnard Saturday morning. Vestril is in SD ...

KBell
The only aspect that this is effecting me from these fires is that the SanDiego/Miami game was moved to a different stadium for Monday Night football

The sky here is still grayish-red, hopefully we can get some relief soon from firefighters who have just arrived from other parts of the country. Joetheeskimo
Ya, I heard about those forest fires. They were top story in the Hartford Courant. I live in Connecticut, but I'm watching this. Hope they can stop it.
Neverhoodian
I live in Northern California, and things really haven't been affected up here. There is a dirty, smoky cloud visible in the distance to the south, though.
