"Glow"

Recommended Posts

O.K. I'm a n00b. I'm new to this forum, so sooner or later a n00b needs help. It's inevitable. Ok, now to the point of why I am posting. I was fooling around in my "User CP" and I found a little option thing called "Glow" now it says after 1250 posts your name will "Glow" O.K. it says something about entering something in hex code? I dont understand this! Can anyone help me with this? I've seen glowing names and I want one too! Thx.

Well first you need 1250 posts then you can go to this site-http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/reference/color_codes/ and get the Hex Code.

Most of the places, its once every 100. I dunno if you understand this but:

There are many different catagories at Lucasforums. Most boards use the DEFAULT ranks. However, some ahve their own ranks, so, if you go post in that catagorey, it will be different..... uh.. heres an example. :)

You post in the JediKnight Forum, and you have lets say 320 posts. Over at the JedKngiht forum, you would be a "Wampa". Now, lets say you went to RogueSquadron next (RS) You would be an officer there. ;)

Hope you understood all that. :)

No. You gotta be a smart little person and use a search engine and find hex codes. ;)

yea, but with photoshop, if you have it, any hex code imaginable is all there.

or there are plently of sites to go to that have hex codes, basic ones tho, nothing very specific...just the basic colors...unless you get lucky and find a very good site, I have yet to find it.

photoshop is kinda the way to go tho.

Yeh, but sometimes the color doesn't show up, like if you have a neat shade of blue, it might become a basic blue. I wonder how many hex codes are supported for the names...... :)

All hex color codes are 6 digits, which makes for a possible 16^6, or 16777216 combinations. Of course, many of those colors are indistinguishable from several others.

its three pairs of hex numbers -> XX-XX-XX

which represent three colors red green blue ..

so for each color there is a possible value from 0 to 255 (00 to ff) which is as matt-windu said 16^6 or 256^3 (actually equal.. but more exactly :D) combinations/ possible values for a color. you just have to write those 3 pairs (of the hex values) in one line and at violine: a "hexcoded" color.

thats the whole "secret".

and right, you can check the colors in paint or whatever. just edit the color palette. but remember there are only decimal values in the palette editor. you need to change them into hex values.

i always wanted lightblue to draw water or snow.. i mean.. i "hated" darkbluewater. and how the hell shall i draw snow if not with lightblue? with grey? yellow? pink? prrrffft.

and light blue pencils were hard to get where i lived back in those days..

the new entered value activates only AFTER posting a new or editing a post. at least it was like that when i started to glow.. err. yes and white IS something like FFFFFF not FFFFF ..

see.. not to say it twice but..

white would be a hex value of FFFFFF - FF FF FF

the first FF i s a red-value of 255

the second FF is a gree-value of 255

and the third FF is .. RIGHT .. a blue-value of 255

so what would be yellow?
