Alien426
OK, I'd like to know which programs you use on your computers. I'm talking about tools that makes your work easier. I thought about using Mozilla Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/), but discovered that it seems to need a lot of extensions to get me where I'm with MyIE now. So, tell me about your browser, download manager, theme, screensaver, media players, rippers, encoders, editors... Fraps (http://www.fraps.com): Takes screenshots from anywhere you want. It also has functions to make movies and to show the frame-rate in games. MyIE (http://www.myie2.com/): Adds cool features to the Internet Explorer browser (ad blocker, tabbed browsing...) CDex (http://cdexos.sourceforge.net): MP3 encoder, also rips CDs and converts audio formats. It's easy to use, versatile and fast. TextPad (http://www.textpad.com): Text editor with a lot of functions. It doesn't look impressive at first, but there are a lot of nifty features to be found. screensaver: Jedi Outcast: Clouds media player: Windows Media Player for single files (minimal size on screen) WinAmp 2.79 (http://www.winamp.com) for playlists and OGGs... I use the skin Glacial Age PowerDVD (http://www.gocyberlink.com/english/products/product_main.jsp?ProdId=28) for playing DVDs I'm still using WinZip to unpack zipped files, but have recently installed 7-Zip (http://www.7-zip.org) which supports a lot more formats (like RAR). AntiVir Personal Edition (http://www.free-av.com) Freeware virus scanner (quote from the site: »Quality "Made in Germany"« )

Joshi
Okay big guy, here we go. First of all. Media Players Most internet sites use Windows Media Player (version 9 is the best, you can have a little window on the task bar so when you play a DVD, you can just have it there on top of everything and it won't get in the way much and if it does, minimize it and listen to it, also has basic buttons on it) or Real Player, so basically, get both. I still use WinDVD 5 for my DVD's as functionality works great on it (and time stretching is fun, try it on the Yoda Fight sequence in AOTC and you'll see why) And I personally think the best freeware antivirus software out there (and my school uses this and has been virus free since 1997 4 days ago when I threw in my trojan horse Mwuahahahaha!) AVG Antivirus software. Hope this helps.

Huz
Hey, don't be mocking the MS Office! I'd like to see YOU find such a troublefree, intuitive set of programs on your COMMIE operating system! Why, I've used MS Office for years, and not ONCE has it misbehaved, or caused me to pace around the room shouting obscenities. It is truly Bill Gates' greatest achievement. Really. scabb
Anyone who doesn't use BSPlayer for video files is arguably a cur. Zoomplayer users will also avoid being bopped several times in the face. China has thrown down the sickle and given in to the wads of green joy, your ethos is over! 1,000 Chinese labourers are no doubt in various rooms with computers - eventually, the latest Microsoft operating system will be with us! It's time to start building planes with two right wings, and knock in our nails using bullets! Avant is a nice browser too, but Firefox is like an illegitimate half-brother to me - think how good it would be if it were commercial!
