Mountainforest Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 In the intervieuw with Pandemic studio's it was said that there will be maps where vehicles will play a big roll and that there will be maps where infantry fights are most important. Wich maps are you goining to play most?
Wai_TungLeung Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Not really much of a choice if we'll be marching all over the galaxy trying to take every map. If I was to say my favourite it would be vehicles maps since I stand no chance of killing anyone as an infantary unit.
oback Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 i think having both is good, as long as theres somewhat even amounts of infantry for both sides, not one side have all the vihacles and the other side have very little. Both will also be more interesting tactic wise
Syzerian Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 it depends on the type of people im playing with if im fighting with people that just play rambo style i would want a vehicle map but if im fighting with people who strategise i would wont mostly infantry i love games where you go "oh ****! they have a tank and 2 jeeps with some good snipers backing em up. get behind the trees and load up your heavy weapons and wait for them to come over the hill":D i love playing 'elite commando' type players over the net, its just so fun:D
Glacius1 Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Variety. I wont play either more I dont think, because playing maps with different objectives or playing styles is what keeps it interesting. Its good that they have involved maps revolved around both infantry and vehicle combat. If I had to say which I am best at, its being a grunt!! But that doesnt mean I cant pilot a vehicle;) What im trying to says is, Im sure all the maps will be fun, whatever they are centred around.
pink lightsaber Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 I like to pilot vehicles and be a grunt but i will most likely be playing on infrantry maps just a teensy weensy bit more than vehicle maps. _OUT_
Mountainforest Posted March 10, 2004 Author Posted March 10, 2004 I like to be a pilot to. As far is I know, almost everyone would like to be a pilot (even more since we know that pilots are engineers too), enough reason for me to get worried that you won't find much other players...
Ewok Homie Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 I think maps with infantry maps will be my favorite i personly just like having massive battles in cities or dense jungles with no vehicles. But i still look forward to running away from a At-St in endor while it rains havoc on the rest of my team.
dark jedi 8 Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 i'll probably even it out. maybe w/an emphasis on vehicles a little more. depends on how i'm feeling when i play.
Alegis Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 my dreamview of the game in progress would be an infantry rich map with the vehicles in back and some in front as support units, they are useful but don't decide the game
Huntsman Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 If BF1942 is a guideline, you will find that probably almost every map will have both infantry and vehicular combat.
tFighterPilot Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 Some maps. like Theed, will have infantry only(I think), while nature maps, will have especially vehiclular combat.
Huntsman Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 Oh, ok...might still be small vehicles like speeders? I guess we'll see.
Mountainforest Posted March 20, 2004 Author Posted March 20, 2004 Endor would be a good example. It is a infantry map, but you'll also have speeder bikes and (maybe) an AT-ST
Global Strike Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 Jasperw, of course there will be AT-ST's on Endor, you can even see screenshots of them. :jawa

Wich maps are you goining to play most? It doesn't really matter to me. I will gladly play on any map. I'm a crappy driver so I doubt I will be using any vehicles. I like being a foot soldier. But I'm sure it will be an amazing sight to see land and aerial vehicles fighting it out as I'm running around the battlefield. I am very much looking forward to seeing how the Geonosis map will play. I expect it will be extremely chaotic -- at least on the PC which may have up to 32 to 64 players playing at once (at least that is my hope). It's gonna be fun.
StormHammer Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 I'll be looking for variety, and a good mix of vehicular and infantry combat. Although I have to say I prefer running and gunning on foot to flying around.
Chris Anne Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 Quote Originally posted by tFighterPilot Sorry, only 32 32 is fine. But you can count on some people (if they have a very fast server) will try to fit more players on their servers no matter what the player cap may be. But I have no problem with 16 vs 16. That's still a lot.

tFighterPilot Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 It is... There will be AT STs on Endor though, you can be sure of it.
Mountainforest Posted March 21, 2004 Author Posted March 21, 2004 Probably every map has some vehicles, but the question is if you would rather play mapes with only a few vehicles, or maps with lots of them. And something else: I understand that you don't want to play only one kind of map, but wich kind would you like best?
lukeiamyourdad Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 Quote Originally posted by tFighterPilot Sorry, only 32 32 on the internet, 64 on LAN. I like any Urban Jungle/Plain Jungle map and Hoth Urban Jungle involves you working closely with vehicles to protect them from ambushes and vice-versa. That's what's fun.
