Spyware......why did it have to be Spyware?!? I hate Spyware!

Yes, unfortunately my comp has been infected with Spyware that seems to stay stuck to my Internet Favorites folder. I have made about 5 attempts to rid my web browser of this pest by deleting it time and time again, yet it resurfaces every time I log on. I've even tried scanning it with SpyBot and using the Internet filters to try and stop it from resurfacing, but my efforts failed.

Does anyone have any ideas or tips on how to permanently destroy it? Because the last thing I'd resort to is deleting my computer account, and I wouldn't want to do that.

Ad-Aware

Spybot S&D

Spyware Blaster

Pest Patrol

Spy Sweeper

WinPatrol

Get them all if you can, keep all the ref files updated, and use them at LEAST once a week, if not daily.

If you are infected and can't seem to get rid of it, run your anti-spyware scans from Safe Mode.

Also keep your anti-virus files up to date and run that often.

Get a good solid firewall and keep it on at all times. It's nice to have both a hardware one and a software firewall running.

If all else fails: find out the name of the spyware program you are infected with and Google it. Chances are there is someone out there who can tell you how to remove it manually.

My e-mail inbox. It was littered with ads about Viagra and such. Damn illegal stuff-making bastards! :fist: They should all be sued by the Supreme Court's paralegal fist for doing such things! Can't they realize that there are young children surfing the net? Such things would traumatize them, just like it did to me, and I'm only 17! :( They disgust me!

I'm damned serious about this! They should all be thrown in the slammer!

A lot of it comes with various Peer-to-Peer apps, like Kazaa and the like... as well as other questionable freeware and shareware downloads often come bundled with spyware payloads attached that you have to agree to to use to get the program to run.

Some can be transmitted right over webpages if you don't have your IE security settings up high enough.

And some can get auto-installed by opening malicious e-mail spam.
