I feel bad.

I'm like, the only person here who DIDN'Tcry at all.

I like ROTK. The emotions were well played, much more than FotR. I felt closer to the characters than before.

1 part that went by unmentioned: Pippin's ability to sing. :p He did a great job, till they started cutting to Denethor's mouth...

I didn't cry at all during that ending and when

Aragorn said 'You bow to no one'

, I felt I was going to vomit...

Thats just me though.

...f'ing hobbits...

Well, personally, I didn't cry, but I wasn't anywhere near vomiting, either.

But then, I knew it was coming - that scene was similar to the book.

TTT and ROTK made me tear up at some parts, and movies don't normally make me do that, however all the glory in TTT was in the scene where Gandolf was marching down the hill with the waves and waves of soldiers....

and ROTK it was like whoa....every 2 seconds, but you were into the story more than the effects, and overall, I think, was the best movie out of the 3, but I think all 3 are awsome.

but i'm going to go out on a limb here

Peter Jackson is the FIRST director i know that has made [/b]A SEQUEL[/b] better than the original

AND HE DID IT TWICE

so that's why i think RotK is the best one.

But Jackson was just using Tolkien's work...so really, Tolkien made the sequel that was better than the original - Jackson just made them into movies.

Remember that LotR was actually a kind of "sequel" to the Hobbit ;)

Was it? Or was The Hobbit the prequel to LOTR? Or does the fact that they're all such great books make it a moot point?

Personally, I don't think it matters which movie was better...but I have to say that this LOTR series is defitinely the best out there (especially considering that the rest of them are all animated...).

But then, that's not really up for debate - it's pretty much an established fact.

actually also, the Hobbit was written as a kids book, LOTR wasnt.... in addition, the first part of LOTR essentially 're-writes' events that describe how Bilbo got the ring, because it wouldnt gel with gollums behaviour in LOTR....

Btw guys is this becoming a "the history of LOTR" thread?

yes, we'll call it a HOL from now crow

joking

Tolkien made all the elf langue in his childhood. One of the reasons that he made LOTR was because he was upset that Briton did'ent have a good mythology, so the hobbit was written.
