Why do you Want to Play SW: Battlefront?

My question to everyone is: Why do you want to play SW: Battlefront. Now please try searching for answers other than "The graphics look really cool" or "I'm a huge Star Wars fan" etc. While these are, in many cases, parts of why we want to play, I'm looking for answers from deeper within.

I want to play Battlefront because it's a new beginning. I've helped pioneer many games including(but not limited to) Age of Empires II, JK2, Medieval Total War, Runescape and Command and Conquer Renegade. Now, all but one of those(JK2) are still very popular to this day. Out of all these games there is one thing I feel with them all, satisfaction of being far ahead by doing something that can be accomplished in a day 1 year later. I also like sharing the stories of when the game was young with people who've not been around as long as me. But out of all the reasons in the world, I want to play Battlefront because I've never been the best. I know, this is extremely egotistical, but it has always been my one desire to be #1, the very best, even for just a few minutes. Everytime I start in a brand new game I try to become the best. But these games never have what I'm looking for to continue playing. Sure some are great for the first month or two, but then die out quickly.

Now why do I think Battlefront will be different? Because I've never had such a great feeling about a game not even released yet. I truley think that Battlefront will be the Age of Empires of our time. So I now open up the floor to any of your reasons as to whats driving you to play Battlefront, or better yet, wait months in advance for the game to come out.

You've helped pioneer games? That's going to need some explanation. Unless you actually worked on the game, you can hardly be considered a 'pioneering' force. Heh, at least I got a chuckle out of that.

I'll be playing BF because it's a combination of BF:42 (one of my favorite games) and Star Wars (of which I've been a long-time fan and hobbiest of).

I really don't know what other answers you could be looking for other than 'it looks like it'll be fun' or 'I'm a Star Wars fan'...

I don't have any 'noble' reasons for wanting to play the game. :p

However, I will say that it looks like great fun. I enjoy playing games like Enemy Territory, especially with large teams on either side, and you can get a good sense of being on the battlefield trying to achieve an objective. The timer counting down helps to lend a sense of urgency to the combat. Mainly, though, it's just a great fun blast.

That's what I'll be looking forward to with SWBF. I won't even attempt to become the 'number one player', because I know there are some excellent MP gamers out there with more skill in their little finger than I'll ever hope to achieve. Besides, my reflexes aren't quite what they used to be.

No, for me it will be having fun taking part in the epic battles of the Star Wars universe, and I'll be happy enough with that.,

1: It is the only Star Wars game to come out for 2004 on Playstation 2.

2: The last time there has been a Playstation 2 Star Wars game was in November and December 2002.

3: First Star Wars video game for Playstation 2 with it set during the orginal trilogy period. :)

My reasons:

7. online multiplayer

6. good clan fun

5. epic scale

4. vehicles

3. starfighters

2. Republic Gunship (oooooh yeah!)

1. Star Wars!

Of course I like to play the game because I love star wars, but everyone in this forum does, so it's useless to say that.

I've never followed the production of a game from so early on, and this game looks already perfect. bf1942 was really nice, but the vehicles in swbf will be much more fun, because they don't have to be realistc, and because they are so different from eachother. In bf1942 al factions have some tanks and some airplanes, but in sw1942 vehicles from different factions are totally different.

And all the think that were good about bf1942 are also to be found in battlefront (teamply, different classes).

And star wars has never been looked at from the perspective of a normal soldier (not in the games, not in the movies), so this will probably be totally new!

You mean the Medal of Honor series were the only games you played that aren't Star Wars?

Why do I want to play Star Wars battlefront? I really really like star wars, I like shooting stuff, its something to do, its good for role playing, it'll build my bad social skills (maybe), it'll build comraderie, It'll rarely get boring. I can never 'beat' it. cause I'll always have more players to kil.

I can't say that I'm that dedicated, but...

I got a Nintendo GameCube just for Rogue Leader. Now I have all of the Star Wars GameCube games.
