Sivy
i just came across this on http://www.theforce.net... Star Wars en Direct #19 - June 13th, 2004 Casting the Original Trilogy in 2004 On this show we'll play a game. We're in 2004 and your name is George Lucas. You've just finished the script for a new three part space-opera and you need to choose a cast of actors for your movies. What active actors/actress could play the main and secondary characters (heroes and villains) in your upcoming movie Trilogy. Take your pick. We're looking for the best cast possible, the worst cast ever or the funniest and wildest cast imaginable. Submit your lists and the reasons, serious or not, why you chose those actors (mention a movie or TV show they appeared in as reference). Send them, or your phone number (for us to call) to studio@swendirect.com. and i thought, hey that might be fun. so post your suggestions, either for funniest, worst, best etc. here's a few... (funniest) Danny De Vito as Yoda Will Ferrell as Obi-Wan John Travolta as Han Solo Christopher Walken as Darth Vader (Worst) Ben Affleck as Han Solo Britney Spears as Princess Leia Ashton Kutcher as Luke Skywalker The Rock as Jabba the Hutt Steve Irwin as Yoda
Kengo
Wasn't Walken among those considered for the role of Solo back when they made the original trilogy? As much as a I love that guys acting, I don't think he'd have fitted it. The Rock as Jabba the Hutt? I'm appaled!
toms
its a cool idea, but i might have to think about it. Its the hair that is putting me off, it's hard to imagine any of the current "polished" superstars with that hair...

obi
Robert de Niro as Uncle Owen. "You're not going to that mother F'n Toshi Sation. Stop whining, or I'll give you something to cry about! Put that down....no no no.......put that power converter down.....put it-I'll shove it right up your *buttocks*!" *frowny face while pointing* And um..........Eddie Murphy as the rest of the characters. Why not. Crazy_dog no.3
Whoops I put the Emperor twice. Well, I guess it makes sense, apparently the Emperor was played by both an old woman and the other guy.
topshot
Um, Mr. T as Darth Vader? Jack Nicholson (damn, that's hard to spell) as Wedge?
toms
lets see: Luke: Tobey Maguire Leia: Charisma Carpenter or Ashley Scott Han Solo: Tricky. Maybe Vin Diesel. Can't think of anyone with the right "rogueishness". Moff Tarkin: Ralph Fiennes Ben Knenobi: Morgan Freeman Wedge: Jude Law Biggs: Billy Crudup Palpatine: Christopher Lee Chewy, the droids and vader (with helmet on) could be played by almost anyone really same actors as before as they all nailed it. Sivy
here's my serious ones. Orlando Bloom as Luke Keira Knightley as Leia (who better to play padme's daughter than one of her decoys) Colin farrell as Han solo ewan mcgreggor as old Ben - with a bit of help from make-up just to show you what that would look like, i've just photoshopped a picture of obi-wan from ep III... http://members.lycos.co.uk/sivyb/oldben.jpg

I personally would distance myself from the guy, after fudgin up anakins training he's got alot to answer for. Can you imagine if Judge Judy was anakins master, there definitely would've been no Vader, and Palpatine would still be a lowly senator... Sivy
no no no, it was all qui-gon's fault. even though the council and obi-wan knew anakin to be dangerous, qui-gon still pushed for anakin to be trained. and he even made it his dying wish to obi-wan. besides anakin still fulfilled the prophesy didn’t he. he just killed alot of people on the way
obi
Obi-wan is the best Star Wars character. Period.

Period. when it comes obi wan I think you and Siv are heavily biased ! My fave character is pre vader anakin, as we see in ep2 and 3. I really like the whole part of ep2 with anakin seraching for schmi, finding her, losin it on the tuskens, and then the deep remorse... the book 'Tatooine Ghost', which Ive just finished reading, deals with all this stuff, from Leia's POV. a good read mtfbwya
