Okay, I'm trying to write a story, but I get brain-farts everytime I try to develop characters. So heres what I am asking:

1: Vampire characters. Need a name, actual age and physical age, physical description, and a favored weapon. Atleast 2, but no more than 5 Dark Gifts. There are no givens here: Specify if their super strong, super fast, ect...

2: Human characters. Name, age, description, Hunter or Inqusition, and 2 powers if a Hunter.

3: Werewolf characters. Name, age, and a human description with fur color.

Background on characters isn't required, but it is appreciated.

Hunters are humans with inborn gifts used to fight the supernatural.

The Inqusition is the Church's war on the Underworld. They make up for a lack of powers with state-of-the-art technology.

Example:

Spike

Vampire

200/21

6', 180 lbs, bottom of the shoulder length silver hair.

Prefered Weapon(s): Swords

Dark Gifts: Mist form, Super Speed, Super Strength, Telekinesis, Bat form.

Rip-off Underworld and Witch Hunter Robin much? :p

Vampire names, eh? Hmm. The name Douglas is derived from a Gaelic name meaning "blood river." Or maybe Kamal, which is Sanskrit for "red." Or you can fall back on the Latin root "sang" which means blood. I mean, you don't want to be ripping off classic vampire names like Alucard and Lestat because that would be too easy (not to mention very uncreative).

As for your werewolves, you can always vary the Latin "lupus" if you so choose. In addition, there are several languages that have wolfish names. Gaelic, for example has the root "Conn" which means 'wolf,' as in Connal and Connor. Then there's the Swedish version, "Ulf." Or perhaps the Yiddish "Zev."

Heh, I'm a linguist as a hobby, so you can see where I get all these ideas from.

Werewolf:

Umbra/Zach Bradshaw

24

On the outside, at day, he is a normal banker. Once visited the forests of Canada, Zach succumbed to the power of the Dire Wolves, making him Umbra, the Wolf that feeds on the light of Luna. Zach is a white, a bit dark, young and hairy at the chest, arms and leg. He has a budding mustache and has a goatee. His hair are trimmed into spikes.

He has a normal body, and constantly wears a strange Werewolf ring and neckpiece. On the sight of the full moon, Zach becomes oversized and much, much more powerful. His eyes go blood-red and hair sprouts all over his body. You don't need to be alive to know the rest...

Fur Colour: Black, Silvery in Moonlight.

Modern time or fantasy setting? That could really have some impact on their favorite weapons. Also the way you look at vampires, by the way. Some say they have long claws, wich could be their fav weapons...

Alright, vampire...

Name: Jade.

Physical/actual age: 27/ I dunno... 150 sounds about right?

Description: She's a bit pale (duh) and has long black hair. I dunno about weight but she's pretty skinny, i'll say.

Favorite weapon: Dagger.

Dark Gifts: Bat form, Life steal.

1: Vampire characters. Need a name, actual age and physical age, physical description, and a favored weapon. Atleast 2, but no more than 5 Dark Gifts. There are no givens here: Specify if their super strong, super fast, ect...

Real Name: æternus Mori (loosely translated to Eternal Dead in Latin).

Human Name: Augustine Casus( Latter name translated to False Step, to hint that as a human he is not what he appears to be)

Actual age: Whispered in rumor only, but is suggested to be around a millenia old.

Physical age: 29

Favoured Weapon: A finely crafted dagger forged with a long forgotten material, which is slate black in color and gives even the boldest warrior discomfort just by gazing apon it. Also is coated with a very lethal poison.

Description: Young and slim, has albino-white skin and greasy long black hair. Blue eyes. Very charismatic when need be, but prefers to be alone. Is intellegent for the most part, however when he becomes both angry and arrogant he tends to make mistakes.

Dark Gifts: Can call upon the shadows during nightime to completely darken a given area no more than a regular sized room, and doesn't work in the open. Becomes a normal 29-year old human during the day, but retains none of it's dark power and can be killed just like a mortal. Also, it has no need for sleep of any sorts and so is always awake. As for attributes, mostly just agile and can blend in with shadows very well.

2: Human characters. Name, age, description, Hunter or Inqusition, and 2 powers if a Hunter.

Name:Baron von Vulstraker

Age: 39

Description: Tanned and rough skin, with a golden-brown hair color. Father was found dead in his mansion, with a slit between his ribs and two small scars on his throat. Vulstraker believes his father was killed by a vampire, and has dedicated his life to finding and ending the life of the vampire which killed his father. Joined the local Inquistion in hope of any clues pertaining to his father's murderer.

I'm bad with Werewolves by the way, so you or someone else will have to make a biography for them. :/

Werewolf

Human name: Antea Lupum Redire (to return the wolf before, loosely translated Latin)

Lupine name: Terrere Vir (Latin, to terrify man)

Age: 22

Shortened biography: The First Werewolf Leader of Centum Pateri, literally the 100 fathers, an ancient order of werewolf consisting of 100 families. Terrere is the youngest leader, recently becoming one due to his brother's sudden death. He is a passionate werewolf with more political thinking due to his high position in human society. His leadership of Centum Pateri has been questioned by the other leaders, but none dare to challenge him due to his physical strength and unorthodox ability to fight on both four legs and two legs. Under his leadership the order has become more docile and civilized, unlike his ancestors, who embraced ruthlessness.

Weapon: As a human, Antea is skilled in the use of sais. In werewolf form he can still use these weapons, however to a smaller degree. He prefers to use his brute strength to crack an enemy's ribcage.

Side: generally steering his order in the direction of justice, battling the vampire nation throughout the world.

That's almost directly ripped from the movie Underworld's premise, as well as several other published works on vampires and the lyc (BAD PUN ALERT). I'm not saying you're plagarizing them, just that your plotline sounds eerily similar.

You have to admit Niner, the vampire thing has been so gummed to death, that there is scarcely room for any growth or originality any more. I dislike MOST vampire movies, comics, tv shows, for this VERY reason.

It is not that I HATE vampire movies, I DO like a few....I must stress a FEW.

Nosferatu

Bram Stoker's Dracula

The Lost Boys

Shadow of the Vampire

Shadow of the Vampire probably has the best plot in ANY vampire movie I have seen in years, because it takes something real, and adds a mythical twist to it. Plus the acting and screenplay was so top notch.

Kain, I don't want you thinking I am dissing you for likeing vampires or anything like that. We all have our "tastes" for lack of better words. I guess my tastes lean more towards the classic Sci-Fi universe, so whatever moves you the most is your thing.

EVEN if you come up with something that MAY have been done, don't stop writing. I have written alot of stories, poems etc. I look back on SOME of the stuff I wrote, and realize some of it is NOT all that original, and then there is SOME stuff I look back on, and realize I had a genuine original idea. Writing is all trial and error, but either way, you benefit in the long run.

I guess to quote a famous LF'er ;

"Expand your imagi-nation" :)

Vampire:

Name: Arianna

Age: 229/21

Description: 120 lbs. Skinny, Raven waist-length hair, pale skin, pale green eyes, mesmerizingly beautiful. Wears a long, velvet, black dress.

Perferred weapons: Rapier, pistols

Dark Gifts: Mist form, charm, blood-rage, fast-speed, transform into swarm of bats

With no memory of her past, Arianna cannot remember how or why she became one of the un-dead. Awoken from her grave merely hours after she was buried, she awoke confused, and terrified. Feeling inside her a strange hunger for human blood, she embraced her new dark hunger and feed it willingly. She only remember flashes that occur every now and then inside her own mind of falling, helplessly into a icy, watery grave. She has these strange marks on her left eyebrow, and by her lower lip, made from the fall on jagged rocks. She despretaly seeks the one who made her, and the one who killed her.

Uh, not to argue, but my Hunters are based off of White Wolf publishing's Hunter: The Reckoning set of P&P RPGs.

Also, the Inqusition is Vampire: The Masquerade's answer to Church input. In that, they use archaic weapons such as crossbows and holy water, but I decided to modernize them after watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer's 4th season, which included Inititave, an ultra Black Ops Super Secret Government program which uses super-state-of-the-art weaponry to fight 'subterstrials'; demons, vampires, and other things that go bump in the night.

Vampires in Underworld also belonged to 2 convenants, in my writing, every vampire is on their own, maybe hanging around their sire for a few years before leaving him or killing him.

...just clarifying.

Vampire -

Name - Nox

Real Name - Dave :D

age : 27 / 180

Description: short but scruffy black hair, pale skin, blue eyes, 5"10, 140 lbs. normally wears black.

Preferred Weapon(s): katana, hands & feet (kung fu expert)

Dark Gifts: can fly, has super speed/ strength, telekinesis, ESP.

brief history - whilst driving home one night, Nox accidentally knocked down and killed a man who had ran out in front of his car. this meant he had unknowingly saved the ‘life’ of a vampire. as the man he killed was a infamous vampire hunter who was hunting said vampire.

later that night, after drinking himself unconscious, he was visited by the vampire. The vampire decided to ‘returned the favour’ by making him immortal, thinking he was awarding the man who saved his ‘life’. however Nox saw it as punishment for taking a life.

he became a vampire with principles, who only feeds on people he believes don't deserve to live.
