Tyrion
Alright, a few nights ago my dog ate through my headphones. Fine, I thought, my birthday's near and I'll ask for some new ones. I looked for headphones on Head-Fi, a audio/headphonephile forum, to see what I should get. I decided upon the Sennheiser HD-25SP. My dad was nice however, and decided to get me the headphones. It ended up he was able to get them from England for a sweet deal(The only difference from the once in England is that they are the official British Airways one, with the BA logo on the headphones. No other difference). So yeah, I thought, that was great. Now, I decided to check up more on Head-fi about the HD-25SP. On the forum, they said it was actually not that good. So now, here I am, doubting wether the purchase was worth it. On the one hand, it was a forum full of people who have finely-tuned ears, while my ears are hardly attuned. On the other hand, it kept getting reviews of "Too dark!" and "Too rolled off at the highs". Leading me to be severely confused, wondering if I would notice the difference or not. Especially since these headphones are supposed to be better than my other Sennheiser phones, and I thought my other were perfectly well sounding. So basically, have any of you ever tried researching into what product you want to get, only to be severely confused and doubtful?
Mike Windu
That's why I don't buy stuff from the internet. But, they're only headphones man, I'm fine with my 7 dollar ones. headphones from the internet.
Spider AL
So basically, have any of you ever tried researching into what product you want to get, only to be severely confused and doubtful?Yep, I have. That's how I've learned that it's important to prioritise. What EXACTLY do you want the product for, how much are you willing to spend EXACTLY, blah blah etc. etc. Make checklists, go with the data. And of course, it's important to separate fact from divisive subjective opinion. I read lots of reviews before buying a product, but in the end mate, you HAVE to go with your gut. And once you've bought something, never look back. No regrets. Ever. There's always something better and cheaper... that's just the way of things. One's a male and is agressive, but we have never had a problem with him chewing anything and he's around 8 or 9. The other is a female, less than a year old(Yes, the male does get excited, for those with sick yet inquisitive minds) but tears into everything with sadistic glee. Mike Windu
Why may I ask do you deem it necessary to buy headphones from the internet. Go to Best Buy, pick out some 7 dollar headphones, and listen away. They don't have to be the best damn headphones in the entire world

Kurgan
Well people have different opinions. Ultimately you have to decide for yourself what you want from a product. But it's somewhat like reading the news. If you read the National Enquirer or ask somebody who lives in a sewer for the news you may not get a very helpful answer. And there's plenty more things I hate about the internet than just confusing consumer reviews of products... But it would take me all day to tell you. Spider AL
Tyrion: Spider Al, I'll be sure to follow the no regrets part. Always been a problem with me...Well, that part is the part that's easier said than done... I guess there's always something big enough to get one to kick oneself. Kain: I'm not trying to instigate nothing, but aren't you the guy who said my opinions weren't valid because I didn't put logic behind them - yet here you are telling people to go by their gut?Mmkay: A: Holding opinions- as you do- that aren't based on logic, is silly. Really silly. Trying to debate the merits of an opinion that you haven't based on logic is even sillier. Which you also did. Religious people try to do the same thing, all the time. B: When buying computer peripherals one can read many reviews of the products. Some say that a product is good, some say it is bad. Which of these conflicting reviews do you go with? The best written ones, by the most experienced reviewers of course. But what if they disagree amongst themselves too? (and they often do...) Then you have to go with your gut. Logical enough for you? C: You say that you're not trying to "instigate nothing", but if you intend to follow me around trying to pick me up on trivia, I'd say it hints more at some sort of desire for revenge (for a perceived defeat) on your part than anything else. Hey, responding to you gives me a reason to practice my typing, anyway.
RoxStar
Well there was this one time i was looking for video cards and had a piece of crap picked out and then some guy named Tyrion pointed me to a better one... Troopr-Undr-Fir
yeah, I recently bought some headphones from the intahnet. Because my girlfriend didn't want to hear: "HEAD SHOT!", "DOUBLE KILL!" "MULTIKILL!" "MMMMMMONSTER KILL!" that was 2 weeks ago, and they broke yesterday... frikin things cost $23. Now I can only hear out of one of the ear peices... First time, I've had problems with something I've bought from the net.

I have gone through so many pairs of headphones over the years it isn't even funny. Now I'm glad I never even thought about shelling out for some 100$ 'phones. Then again if they were made of kevlar and titanium maybe I wouldn't have had to buy anymore. Either I'm a total barbarian with headphones or they are simply cheap pieces of crap that can't stand up to daily use for more than a year. ; p
IG-64
Get these. They're great, you can hear about 20 times better than other headphones. What is really great about these is that they're farking durable, and last forever.
