TiE

33 speed records, were full length albums, containing 10 songs or so, 4-5 on each side of the record depending on the length of the song.

45 speed records were the equivilant to today's CD/Cassette singles. They featured one hit song on one side, and a "B Side" on the other side. The "B Side" was usually either another song off the LP, or an alternate song not featured on the album.

I USED to have a **** load of 45's that belonged to my parents, and her sister, but most of them broke. I still have a handfull of 33 speed LP's some of which I bought in the mid to late 80's before they became virtually extinct. You can STILL find vinyl in some COOL record stores up near Chicago.

I just quoted ones that caught my attention.

(I would have quoted The Beatles and Jimi, but you didn't give specifics)

Anyways, these are GREAT albums. You will have a blast listening to these (Well, if you have a record player)

Also, its "Floyd" not "Flyod" ;)

EDIT - I also wanna know, on In through the out door, is there color on the inside of the cover? Normally, its normal, but when it gets exposed to water, it turns color. And I think if you JUST FOUND those albums, then it was exposed to some water from Humidity sometime in their lifetime.

What do you mean? There are 3 covers.

The first is a paper bag type thing that saysd Zeppelin on the front, name of the ablum, and on back it has the songs. Then it's a bar room ... kinda black/brown/and white.THEN! Theres a black and white picture for the paper thing that holds the record.

And, that IS the name of the Beatle CDs, just the years. :)

Jimi Hendrix - I don't think it has a name...

Side A

Go Go Shoes

Brign My Baby Back

Wipe the Sweat

Psycho

Side B

Voice in the Wind

Goodbye Bessie Mae

All I Want

I bought my wife one of those compact turntable things for her birthday, and she grabbed lots of old records she had at her parent's house, and I had my parents bring up my old ones from our house.

My wife used them like the record companies wanted you to - play the record again and again ... some of hers are 'fuzzy' from over-play, plus skips and the like.

I usually played them once to record to tape, then put them away. So most of my stuff is in pretty dark good shape.

AFAIK, my last album purchase was in ~1984 - I found a receipt in the collection. I paid ~$12 for something (by then it would have been avante-garde jazz) ... and those were the days when a movie cost ~$3.50.

My wife has lots of Partridge family, David & Shaun Cassidy, K-Tel Hit Machine, and late 70's/early 80's pop.

I have lots of Who, Hendrix, Cream, ELP, Rush, Sex Pistols ... then my switch to jazz with Jeff Beck, Miles, Metheny, etc, etc ...

Total nostalgia trip lately ...

heh, i found a couple of boxes of old records that belonged to my mom when we moved. i still can't believe that my mom used to listen to led zeppelin and jimi hendrix. of course, she always complains about my music being too loud.....

the cool thing is that we have one heck of a nice turntable to listen to them. oh yeah, and its hooked up to my stereo. :D

of course, if i had the right equipment, i could record them onto my computer and burn a CD as well. :D
