Nitro
I'm hungry and I've got the data select music from Metroid Prime stuck in my head, rotating out occasionally in favor of The Misfits' Dr. Phibes Rises Again.
Keyan Farlander
Rogue, you should always give two weeks notice, or at least some notice. They need time to know they are going to need to hire a replacement. Nobody expects you to work at Pizza Hut forever, and no one is going to give you crap about quitting. You wouldn't be leaving on bad terms at all. As it is, you probably left on bad terms, because the people there probably think you just got pissed off and quit, and didn't talk about it. You cannot use Pizza Hut as a reference now, for sure. Nute, some new tale of female rejection to tell, or are you just speaking in general? Nitro
If you wanna quit on short notice, work in a call center... I haven't found one yet that will give references.
Zoom Rabbit
I'm hungry and I've got the data select music from Metroid Prime stuck in my head, rotating out occasionally in favor of The Misfits' Dr. Phibes Rises Again. Curious. I have the race music from the 'Big Blue' track in F-Zero GX going in and out with 'Take on Me' by A-Ha. I'm not crazy, of course...but I do just go with it... Nute always has a story of female rejection to tell, unlike crackmonster. Out with, space frog! Oh, and as I have stated over in Aresen, it is Rogue 15's destiny to work in food service. Try to escape it he can, but like a Y-wing burning jets out of a black hole, the outcome is predetermined.
Wildstar
Go me! I got a good deal on a DVD burner for this machine & it shipped last night. I should have it by the end of the week, and if it is, I'll install it over the weekend.

Ikhnaton
Rogue, do you ever give a thought to anyone but yourself in the present moment? do you ever think about the future? do you ever stop and wonder how walking out on a job like that can affect your future employment? do you think that prospective employers don't call your previous jobs and ask about you? and don't you think the old job will be more than happy to relate how you just walked out without notice? You've got to get the idea through your head that your actions have consequences, and even though you may not feel them now, they WILL catch up to you eventually and then you'll be kicking yourself for being such an ass. Ikhnaton
you plan on doing that forever? cuz if you keep doing things the way you are, walmart may be the only place that will have you after a while.
Nute Gunray
Its generally held that I'm pretty dumb, but even I know to have the sense to put in two weeks notice instead of being a jerk and just up and leaving. Unless you're the clever guy I once replaced a few years ago, who said "here's my two weeks notice, ps I'm using my total of ten personal days and vacation now see you guys never again." edlib
Unless you're the clever guy I once replaced a few years ago, who said "here's my two weeks notice, ps I'm using my total of ten personal days and vacation now see you guys never again." I've done that. (Although in my situation I had just been given my two weeks notice.) Giving them 2 weeks is the proper thing to do... but I can totally see the appeal of just getting it over with, though... (what was the Seinfeld bit about breaking up being just like ripping off a band-aid? Applies to leaving a job too, it seems to me.) Hanging around a job for two weeks after you've quit or been fired is kinda like going on an already-booked two week vacation with someone right after you just broke up with them. It's awkward, and there's little to no motivation to do anything that will impress the other party. You really just want to get it over with and get on with your life. Keyan Farlander
My sister has you all beaten in the job quitting category. She was working as a waitress. Pretty nice restaurant, really good pay. It was an extremely busy night, and she was dealing with a lot of tables at once. They give her one more, she decides she can't do it, and just walks out. Doesn't even tell anyone she's going; she just leaves. Then she has the nerve to go eat there three days later. ROFL.
Zoom Rabbit
Here's my take on the two week notice thing: do they ever give you two weeks' notice? No. They let you go, and leave you without an income. It can be utter disaster for and individual when an employer lets them go without notice, if they're supporting kids, a family, etc. Myself, I do give two weeks' notice if the employer has been honorable in this regard in my opinion. If I've seen them fire people without very good reason or lay them off without notice, then I feel fully justified in walking off the job at any time. If they're lucky, I might say goodbye. Then again, I'm a professional cook with eighteen years' experience in a world where even a decently skilled one can walk into any restaurant and get a job, no matter what their resume says. If the resume says they quit frequently, they won't start at as high a pay rate...but if you were at a job awhile then quit without notice, it doesn't really count much against you (in my profession anyway) because an employer who needs you is quick to overlook the notice issue. I guess it depends on what you want to do. If you want a good job and career, then giving notice before quitting is important. Or, if you want to flip burgers or serve in the army, then screw it. Rogue15
they were cutting everybodys hours anyway. hell they begged this one guy to quit kmart and work at pizza hut full-time and said he'd get 40 hours a week. well, the next week is when the ****ing district manager came in and said 'OMG CUT THE HOURS!!!!!' They kept putting me on at 7am, fully knowing i work til close at walmart, sure a few times i'd come in at 10, but then i just looked at my last paycheck and...only $60? just isn't worth stretching myself thin. Besides, i'm doing the customers a favor and keeping my bronchitis away from their food. Also the apartment needs a good cleaning, as my sister works 8-5 every day and gets pissed when i don't help out w/keeping it clean.
Cmdr. Cracken
I've created this helpful simulation to describe the functionality of the female mind. This I find immensly interesting. So, I assume the male enters the singularity of the female mind at the top, eventually being spat out the other side feeling hopeless, and rejected? Your Hypothesis intrigues me. Almost enough to look into the matter furthur. Almost. Posting from Brockport again, noting my hate of college. Next semester wil be better. It will. In other news, I like swords. Rogue15
got the apartment nice and clean. chillin right now listening to some music on the tv. tomorrow i'll prolly mess with photoshop elements 4. i just bought it last week cause an artist is paying my sister to resize and print some of his pictures, mainly print though, he had someone put a bunch on cds, and they can only be opened with adobe photoshop. $10 an hour just to do simple **** like that...damn. he also said he'd supply the paper AND the ink, and we could have copies of his paintings, as long as we don't sell em or anything. working in the walmart one-hour photo lab is so fun. i could prolly get more hours at walmart if i tell them i quit pizza hut.....but then i'd be doing mid-shifts like 12-8....meh screw that...lol i love my free time. well, at least til i get bored then i'll have looked enough to start applying at places. XD life is good. even with bronchitis.
edlib
I just accidently spilled half a bottle of soda on myself. (Do I really need to put the word "accidentally" in there? I hope you all know me well enough by now to guess that this isn't the kind of thing I go around doing on purpose. But you never know... so I guess I'll play it safe. By the way: for the record the soda was a 2-liter bottle of Sierra Mist. Thought you'd wanna know...) Now my left leg is sticky and wet, yet smells lemon-lime fresh. I'm at work, and was planning on leaving soon, but now I think I'll try to give it a chance to dry out, and the rush hour a better chance to clear. Riding in a packed subway car pressed up tight against my nearest neighbor with sticky wet pants legs doesn't sound like all that pleasant an experience, and might just give some people the wrong idea about me. Hell, it could just get me arrested. Again, I think it best to err on the side of caution.

Zoom Rabbit
I could have warned you that you wouldn't want her if I still had a head. Oh well. Heads are overrated. Does this mean I would want her now that your head is gone? Because I do have a place out back where I could tie her up and ducks in the pond she could chase... Personally, I would arrest anyone with sticky soda pants just to make sure they weren't terrorsists. Can't be too careful these days.
