Darth Groovy
Seeing how Yufster is pregnant, this is the time to talk about guitars. Personally, I tried to learn, lacked the patience, or the talent. I never got past the power punk chords, so I had a brief stint in a punk band as a rythm guitarist, not to dissimilar from Naked Raygun or Fugazi. I gave it up after a while when one of the members decided I had a really nice voice, so I took over on the mic instead, and it has stuck over the years. My first, and last guitar was a Krammer, off white with the bridge on the strings. Had to tune it about four times a day, then it got on my nerves. I sold it about 5 years ago for $200. My favorite guitar belonged to a guy in one of my old bands called "Drive Naked Save Clothes". He bought this thing in a pawn shop for $25, and at one particular show, he pulled a Jimmi Hendrix and lit it on fire. He is playing it in this song: http://www.themanipulation.com/music/Invisible%20Man.mp3
Boba Rhett
I've been playing for a little over a year now. I've just been teaching myself, which I know can be dangerous but I think I've been very vigilant in curbing any bad habits that can pop up. I'm left handed but I play righty. Not really because it feels better but that, well, have you seen how much lefty guitars cost? When choice doesn't matter, pick the cheapest route, right? My first was a MIM Fat Strat like this one: and about four months ago picked up this Montara: I luvs me some finger pickin'.
CapNColostomy
I've been playing 12 years now. I like guitars a little more suited to heavy music, such as Ibanez and Washburns. I'll be getting a new guitar next month with income tax dough if all goes well. And it'll most likely be one of the above mentioned brands. PS. Floyd Rose locking bridges and nuts rawk. Ray Jones
Oooo. Nice. A thread about guitars. Maybe i find out here how exactly Yufster got impregnated. (Maaan, you must know, I don't own guitars, i don't play guitars and I don't know why they're called guitars, the only thing I know is ther are .. so thingies) So errm.. , I personally can imagine the classical dog style on the desk number. I mean.. Yufster is sooo HOT, I assume she does everything we want. Especially for ten dollars. ^^;
Alien426
What, Yuffy is pregnant?? <tear-filled eyes>I'll be father.</tear-filled eyes> If Bill/Keane/Ray is the father I'll kill him and eat his spawn.
edlib
*Ignores last 2 posts.* I've been playing since I was about 16. 5 of those years were spent at Berklee College of Music as a guitar major. I should be better than I am. I have a whole slew of axes... I listed them somewhere, with photos, so I won't bother to try and do it again. The Paul Reed Smith is my favorite. It's not only the best guitar I own... it's also the nicest guitar I have ever played. I lucked out when I found this one. Actually, my dad found it for me and bought it on the spot. I just paid him back. My favorite player is Steve Morse (who you might be interested to learn, Rhett, is a left handed guy who plays righty... faster than hell about it too!) MP3 of my playing: http://edlib.homestead.com/files/Sally.mp3 Pretty old now... also pretty silly and more than mildly offensive. But an honest assesment of what I can do in a pinch, since this was recorded as a live track: No overdubs, no fixes, and we improvised the song with the tape rolling. We were making it up as we were playing it.
Fender
My Guitar playing is actually pretty abysmal, I tend to try and play things which are too hard for me to handle, and fail miserably. I play a good old Vintage SG, which I adore, but I generally just play rhythm for someone elses lead pleasure, and take the mic alot more than I am ever allowed near a guitar. Me n my band are going into the studio in about 2 months, so I will post whatever we get done on here, so you can be amazed and buy my record. Or download it off me, your choice. toenail1
I've been playing for about 7 months now, but have been told that I am very good for that time (and also self taught).
Boba Rhett
Oh my, Ed. Pr0n music? Nothing but class, my friend. I loved that song. "Sally's in a hotdog mood" is the best saying. Ever.
edlib
Yup. It's a loooooong story. You can get a taste of it at this post: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=955691#post955691 where I explain where "Sally" comes from. There is actually a whole CD of this stuff we recorded in the course of one very surreal day in Northern California, around the Bay Area. This is actually one of the least offensive tracks we did. Really. I have sent both Nitro and Jem a copy of the full session. Ask them about it next time you come across one of them! (Or if you PM me your address I could send you a copy.) CapNColostomy
I've been hunting, and decided instead of going with another Ibanez or Washburn to instead get this: I love this thing. It looks like a friggin' weapon. I hope to have it around this time next month.

toenail1
I'm not a fan of B.C. Rich's. I don't get that whole "hardcore" thing nowandays. I like my guitars to have at least 1 curve to it... But whatever you like, it's your guitar:p . Heres mine: http://www.parkerguitars.com/code/models/models_pseries_p38_intro.asp Read the specs. The one on the front page is the same color as mine "transparent red".
elTee
Doh, I saw "sally" and thought you recorded the song while smoking some salvia or something.
Joshi
Closed Because it has nothing to do with anything I'm interested in. Actually, I would like to learn one day, my brother in law got my sister by teaching himself to play the guitar just because she said she like spanish guitar music. plus it'd be nice for there to actually be a guitar in my hand when I play along to music (air guitar rocks!)
