Prime Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Probably nothing, but... Star Wars alums Neeson and Jackson both offered hints that George Lucas has shot a top-secret cameo of Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn's ghost, à la Alec Guinness, for May's Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. "I can't speak about it," Neeson joked. "Jedi code of ethics." I'd love for him to make an appearance. Dispite the fuss over Ep 1, Qui-Gon is one of my favorite characters...
El Sitherino Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Well qui-gon had a shot in the clone wars cartoons, I don't see why he wouldn't have a shot in the movie. nice find mate.
guybroom Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 I've not seen the clone wars, so i don't know what happened. but qui-gon did not disappear. So doesn't that mean he can't come back as a ghost?

Master Jaxu Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 that would be cool if they brought him back as a ghost
Franchise Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Wait, you said that would be cool if he comes back as a ghost but then the guy above you said he's not dead yet.
Surfnshannon Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 They kinda gave some hints to it last movie - I mean with him trying to speak to anakin during the slaughter. I can't see why he wouldn't try to contact Anakin again especially at this dark hour - when he needs him the most. Maybe he'll talk to Obi or something.
El Sitherino Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Originally posted by Darth Nihilus Wait, you said that would be cool if he comes back as a ghost but then the guy above you said he's not dead yet. I believe the guy above YOU was talking about Qui-Gon, the guy above him was talking about how Mace isn't dead yet.
Revan Solo Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Why did they burn Qui Gon's body when Yoda's and Obi Wan's ones disappeared?
Sivy Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Originally posted by Revan Solo Why did they burn Qui Gon's body when Yoda's and Obi Wan's ones disappeared? that is the question isn't it. we can only speculate at this point. but i think it's due to the nature of their death. Obi-wan and Yoda both knew they were going to die and had accepted it…will of the force, and all that. Obi-wan knew he was going to die even before his duel with Vader. ‘escape is not his plan, I must face him alone’ ‘Your destiny lies along a different path than mine’ whereas Jedi who die in combat, like Qui-Gon are killed suddenly and they probably hadn't forseen their own death.
thedirsh Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 nice explanation.... I just figured he wasn't strong enough to become one with the force. Not a master, he was only a knight. But if he's to make an aperance then that shoots that theryo.
Prime Posted January 13, 2005 Author Posted January 13, 2005 Originally posted by dirsh I just figured he wasn't strong enough to become one with the force. Not a master, he was only a knight. B That statement is entirely incorrect.
El Sitherino Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Indeed, Qui-Gon was a Jedi Master, and a very respected one. Was even capable of being on the council, except his "maverick" type attitude to judging situations kept him off.
Pho3nix Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Originally posted by Revan Solo Why did they burn Qui Gon's body when Yoda's and Obi Wan's ones disappeared? I've also heard that both Yoda and Obi-Wan learned the "Become spirits after their death" from stolen Sith holocrons, I dunno if it's true.
Leper Messiah Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 might be explained in episode 3. i think Yoda and Kenobi were just that strong in the force that they became a part of it more so than the usual for Jedi
El Sitherino Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 I think it was more that obi and yoda became embodied within the force itself. Where as most jedi just die and are capable of appearing as phantasms, old memories of ones self.
Doomie Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Well, we didn't see Anakin disappear in RotJ and we see him come back as a ghost, so.... WEll, we have to assume that he's dissappeared, since he later came back as a ghost, but Qui-Gon was ritually burned, i think he would've disappeared if he was planning to.

Anakin was quite clearly burned when he died, i dont think we have to assume he disappeared at all
