Mike Windu
Best retro console was definitely NES. Come on, TMNT I/II/III all the way. (could never get past that blasted bomb level >.<)
jon_hill987
The sega master system. it had some of the best games, the very first sonic the hedgehog, the origonal ecco the dolphin, alex the kid, and many more brilliant games Master System > Other Consoles
ZBomber
Well, I never had a SNES. When I played NES, N64 etc, these were the best games you could make. So, now that we have awesome graphics, going back and playing games I never played would be hard for me.... However, I can go back and play NES, N64, Genesis because I had these and played them very often.

lukeskywalker1
Rhett: You can hook 2 gamecubes up and have 4 players! Yoos looos! SCREW IT! Im gonna buy a N64 soon just so I can play the two Zeldas! Yes...... soon, very soon..... I was, but then I got a cube, and payed 30 for Master Quest and Ocarina of Time. If you pay $40 you can also get the 2nd zelda game on 'cube too.

The_One
Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 seal the SNES's fate as the greatest console ever. Coming in a close second has to be the Dreamcast - if only for Shenmue and Virtua Tennis
ZBomber
Why would you want 32 people playing at once tho......

toms
i think i have the most love for the snes, followed by the n64. But if i was honest i'd have to say that the current generation of consoles are probably better. snes had LOADS of greazt games, but it had hundreds of terrible side scroller clones as well. N64 had some absolute classics (Goldeneye & OoT among them) but also a number of poor ones, and a limited selection. I'd have to say that the PS2 probably has one of the best selections of games that any console has ever had... (though i don't own one, only xbox and gc... both of which are great in their area, but not as varied). Still, i'm happy to go back into rose tinted mode and remember the snes, genesis(mega drive) and n64... and thanks to roms you can play them on your handheld, pc or xbox... best of both worlds! El Sitherino
PS2 has a lot of selection but a majority of the games suck horribly. I own a PS2, sometimes I ask myself why....

Crap, Mario 128 and Star Fox Assault are both direct sequals to the old 64 games. They have to be good, because the old ones were.... otherwise they will lose fans. Then we have Zelda GCN... man... is that going to rock or what? Then theres Soul Calibur 2 (best fighting game ever) with LINK! Link pwns. While the system may not have as much power as X-Box, or *supported* online playability, the games are much cooler in my opinion. (Cube does have online playablity with an adapter, but I don't think any games support it, or at least not that many) Can't wait for the Revolution! swphreak
PS2 has about the same amount of quality games as the GameCube has. I forgot the Dreamcast. That'd be like my 2nd favorite console
ZBomber
Yeh, but Gamecube has a lot more Gamecube only games that are actually worth buying. " You would never have asked that if you'd ever played a huge multiplayer game. Go to your room. " Yeh, but what game would you play? Most of the two person MP maps are made for like...... 2-4 people ,I'd be pretty crowded with

ZBomber
Originally posted by Darth Groovy You quite obviously never played Halo. Actually, I own it. Perhaps I misunderstood? Is this all on ONE screen? You'd need a ton of TV's for 32 players if it's not on one screen.

acdcfanbill
I think the gamecube rivals the xbox for visual quality, i havent seen anything put out on the xbox that crushes GCN like they do to PS2.

I agree with Bill that the GameCube has the xbox beat in graphics, they just don't tend to show it off as much as the xbox.
