sigh

well, ever since i started using Firefox, i've wondered why people still put up with internet explorer for day-to-day internet browsing

I've decided to put together a little poll to decide both which is more popular, and which is better.

If you don't use either Firefox or IE, please post what you use and what OS you use. Feel free to add other things though.

Don't come whining to me if i didn't include some other popular browsers, that wasn't the main point of this poll...

the poll is to decide which is more popular, and the user comments are to help people decide which is truly better

Firefox is better, but too bad you can't get IE out of your system as the default browser. For hotmail and such IE is still used. That's why I just stick with IE...

thats a problem i run into a lot, i use firefox for most of my internet related issues, but some sites don't support it, and i have to use IE--shudder--

Theres only *one* thing that keeps me using firefox, and that is the tabbed browing. IE integrates with my internet security proggie, firefox doesnt. Prior to this I had never noticed any of the infamous bugs. So yeah, firefox only for the tabbage :p

if they ever made ie7, resolved some issues and added tabbed browsing, I'd prolly ditch FF...who knows... I really dont think about it that much :p

Here's the kicker man

There isn't a program called "Internet Explorer"

:D

Internet Explorer is simply your "My Computer" double clicked and a Title bar change. :D:rolleyes:

I see now why Bill Gates was having a hissy fit and fought that Anti-Trust lawsuit(s) so hard. They not only had made it "MANDATORY" to use this for the internet; THEY HAD ACTUALLY JUST USED THEIR ALREADY THERE PROGRAMMING!!!!!

If the internet issue had won then they would have had to completely redo several operating systems. :D:elephant:

Their answer is "Well we're just including the basic things people need to function with their PC. (ok isn't that nice :))

Well the thing is where do you draw the line? Right now you could argue "The ability to digitally edit/enhance/alter/modify photos is a must in today's society." I don't think Adobe or Macromedia would like them including advanced picture and internet web page making capabilities?

To finish Internet Explorer otherwise known as "your computers built in operating system windows" could NEVER be removed. That is the reason they are systematically eliminating the competition. ;)

Microsoft is a nice sweet #$%$$!#$ !@#$! @#$@#$ company that has "world domination" capability and that's a bit scary.

I sometimes think what would happen if the government really "hit" Microsoft so in response Microsoft kills every operating system license they have connected out to the internet in their built in "back door?"

In times past servers ran alternative more stable OS' but more and more are migrating to Windows Server 2003.

I am a Firefox fanatic as well but have unfortunately consided to never getting rid of Internet Explorer.

c'mon... sure, everyone can state their opinion :D

beware not to propagate this discussion into a flambeaux, because it is ultra geek to argue over browsers dammit :p

arguments over sports, cars and girls are permitted though :D [/machismo] JK !

Explorer becomes internet explorer. Notice the title bars.

IE is based on windows explorer, but it has a few different things to it. I'm too lazy a prick to get into it, but there are differences.

I could say your "opinion" on my "opinion" was moronic and redundant...but of course I won't ;)

But I'm correct, as there is no Microsoft monopoly, and never was.
