Emperor Devon Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Well, a new pope has been elected... Benedict XVI. He claims religions other than christianity are "Deficient". What are your thoughts?
The Hidden One Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 I think he's a great pope and will do good for this world.
Jeff Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 I think one of the reasons he was elected was to be a...what was the term for it...ahh yes, 'transitional' Pope. He's 78 or 79 years old, and I think thats what they wanted: Someone who's not going to last very long.
RevanA4 Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 um I think that all relingons are right in there own way cuz they all have the same basic pricipals as for the pope's statement I think it was arogant and false
Hallucination Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I thinks its just wrong to go around saying other religions are wrong. And hes not the person I wouldve gone for if I could vote. Just glad he doesnt rule a country.

Jeff Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 In that truth link, That part about him joining the Hitler youth wasn't completely true. He was forced to join, then he ran away and joined the semenary, and then they tried to get him to join again and he deserted again i believe. Though he is still not who I would have voted for if I could vote for pope.
General Kenobi Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 First off: Why is the pope always so old? I mean 20 years is forever for one seems like. Just curious on that. and I love A New Hope, I mean A New Pope

B] I'm an Atheist, but I think I know why: Old popes are popes with lots of experience behind them. Second reason: You have to be a cardinal to become a canidate for being And it takes a while to become a cardinal! If you think about it, the popes aren't very old. Anybody above the age of 80 can't be pope.
