Andy867 Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Set Your VCR, DVR, or TIVO to record Cartoon Network at 7 EST / 6 CST, as it will be holding a special Star Wars Special: Revenge Of the Brick. With the launch of the Lego Star Wars video game series, Cartoon Network, LEGO and the Star Wars Franchise have all stepped in to create an animated special with the release of Episode 3 around the corner (and about 2 blocks down ) The commercial first caught my eye during an episode of Dragonball GT. And I must say, after playing LEGO Star Wars, Revenge of the Brick should be... interesting.
Master Jaxu Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 sweet btw is the lego game out yet and is it any good if it is
Andy867 Posted April 28, 2005 Author Posted April 28, 2005 Yea, its out for all major platforms (PC, PS2, X-BOX) and its not too bad considering that its Star Wars set in the LEGO universe, or it is the other way around??? but yea, the game is pretty good, and I cant wait for Revenge of the Sith and Revenge of the Brick.
Zappa_0 Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Damn Andy when I first read your post I thought that I missed that, thought it was today. I would play the game but the stupid shader patch thingy madoodle!
The Hidden One Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 I kinda have mixed feelings, the title sounds corny but then again it may shed some light on different things in the movie that havn't been leaked.(If there's any.)
Ranre Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 I dont know. The game sounds like its trying to convince 10 and under kids to get the game. Im going to go off tradtion right here but I think the game and maybe even the special event might be a little well "Kidish". Of course thats from a first glance. I need to see and play it to know for sure.
Surfnshannon Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 Bumb - Everyone better watch this! It's on mother's day - and I'm a mom - so watch it! http://www.lego.com/starwars/home.asp?x=x&bhcp=1
Ranre Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 Ack! Im going camping..... Sat-Sun... And we cant bring portable tvs or anything, its sad.
Andy867 Posted May 8, 2005 Author Posted May 8, 2005 Well, apparently, someone misinformed the programmers at Cartoon Network, because as of 6:07CST/7:07 EST, Cartoon Network is showing some garbage called Fosters Home of the Imaginary, and NOT the cartoon network special that they themself (CARTOON NETWORK) advertised. I have already called LEGO group customer service (didnt do much good since its the weekend), and I will contact Cartoon Network and report false advertising and that they need to get their crap together if they want to continue in the media business.
flobbie1 Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 no warez discussion please* [...] i will be watching it in a few moments. *edit* just watched it, and i must say that it's one of the most random 5 minute things i've ever seen. it doesn't go along with the movie at all. it starts with a space battle above kashyyyk (huh...) and then yoda, mace, ani, obi, etc, all fight down on kashyyyk.....um....what? no.......so yea, it doesn't really go along with the movie....dooku (should be dead...) shows up at one point...neat, but definitely not official...:-p
Andy867 Posted May 9, 2005 Author Posted May 9, 2005 Actually, upon further investigation and awesome research on my part, I discovered that what cartoon network did was show the intro credits to Foster's and THEN they did the Star Wars Special. So despite getting the chance to see it, I am still irrate that Cartoon Network did such a thing. They advertise it as being this regular special, and then they go and superimpose it into another show. I felt that the ad was misleading and that it didnt specify how it was going to be shown.
Ranre Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Yeah, this was bad on Cartoonnet works fault, they did a real, real crappy job on adveritising that. They did a good job confusing me thats for sure. Im still P.Oed at Cartoonet Work for doing that.
eastcoast2895 Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 just watched it out the lego star wars site http://www.lego.com/starwars/default.aspx gotta say that was kinda fun to watch. loved the grievous attenna, but why does chewbacca keep fainting?
Andy867 Posted May 9, 2005 Author Posted May 9, 2005 Comical relief probably. I thought that the best scenes were the Darth Vader Orchestra, Picture of Anakin/Obi-wan, and Yoda laughing before fighting on Kashyyysk, and Greivous Attenna. Since the file is freely available (now), I have uploaded a high quality version Revenge of the Brick (HQ) (60Mb)
eastcoast2895 Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 thanks for the high quality version, the version on the website is kinda to small for me knowing it was on tv.
flobbie1 Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 sry bout that, i figured since it was a 5 minute special that was going to be posted on the official site ne ways that it would be ok...whatever the file i referred to was the same high quality version as the one posted *edit* sry double post, i hate my internet
Andy867 Posted May 9, 2005 Author Posted May 9, 2005 Coupes. wasnt aware that the file would eventually be available on the official site for free. Plus the site you linked to is a site where warez does happen. I merely re-directed people away from that site and made just the video available.
El Sitherino Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Originally posted by Andy867 you linked to is a site where warez does happen. ^ Direct linking to a freely distributed file is fine. To a dedicated warez site however, is not.
Andy867 Posted May 9, 2005 Author Posted May 9, 2005 Well, from a brief look at the site, the only non-warez file there was the Revenge of the Brick file. His link that coupes. yoinked was just to the site itself and not a direct link (if I remember correctly)
El Sitherino Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Originally posted by Andy867 His link that coupes. yoinked was just to the site itself and not a direct link (if I remember correctly) Correctamundo.
Hannibal Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Did you guys notice that Mark Hamil was a segment director for Revenge of the Brick?
flobbie1 Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 note to self....don't let mark hamill have the rights to star wars.....*twitch*
Hannibal Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 I think your forgetting this is for kids. My 10 year old nephew loved it and he was supposed to it was for him. We watch it because it's Star Wars but it was meant for kids. Just like the SW Lego game. Even if adult SW fans played it because it was the first game with Ep 1, 2 & 3 in it doesn't mean it's for adults. It had goofy jokes and was quite corny. Everything kids love. While I played it I kept thinking this game would really rock if they made an adult version. For god's sake, the movie that came on right before it was pokemon. That should tell you something.
