THE MANDALORE
After Episode III, where do the clones all go? In the original Star Wars Trilogy, the stormtroopers were ordinary men that joined the service of the Empire. So where did the clones all vanish? T7nowhere
Their supply was exhausted(they were all killed in battle) and the emperor was to cheap to buy more.
Emperor Devon
No, the Empire still used clones. What about the spaarti cloning cylinders on Wayland? I imagine that not all the clones were killed. They probably still had a bunch of them, but Palpatine wanted even more troops. And there's the fact that Lucas though up Episodes IV, V and VI before episodes I , II, and III. Shok_Tinoktin
According to Lucas, the stormtroopers were originally all Jango clones, then more clone strains were introduced, then regular enlisted men were added. So stormtroopers in the ot were a combination of Jango clones, other clones, and enlisted men.
RaV™
Okay so all the stormtroopers we see in the movies that can't shoot the broadside of a rancor are the enlisted men? I support this theory, because in the AOTC the Clones seemed to be great marksmen.
Shok_Tinoktin
Well being enlisted men is not sufficient to explain stormtrooper aim. They are still trained very extensively, and Obi-Wan says "Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so presice", which implies that they are great marksmen. The leading theory is that they only cant aim when they are shooting the heros, and there is definitely some truth in that. My theory is that they are trained to shoot the walls near their enemy, rather then try to hit their enemy directly. Notice that on the Death Star walls explode when shot, and you can see people killed this way. It makes more sense to shoot the walls and have a blast radius more likely to get a hit then a single shot is, the ability to take down multiple enemies at once, and the ability to create confusion amongst your enemies. The heros just happen to be very lucky that the walls dont explode and kill them.

Bob Lion54
Wouldn't clones all have the same voice? It's never explained in the original series. At the time, I doubt Lucas thought about it. Even though the Clone wars are mentioned, Lucas probably did not have a clear idea of what they were. I remember watching a interview with Lucas where he said that they were debating if Vader should actually be Luke's father while they where filming ROTJ. It's all a matter of opinion. Sabretooth
Here's a question that's been bugging me a while - If there are non-clones in the stormtrooper ranks, they must have different sizes. Not to mention the abundance of various species. You just shut the door on the species? And the armour. It's available in only one size. How come, then, that people from all across the galaxy are of one size. Debate over. Stormtroopers are Clones only.
Shok_Tinoktin
Originally posted by RedHawke I agree with Prime... "Aren't you a little short... for a Storm Trooper?" - Leia That's what I thought, too, but straight from the horse's mouth: the idea is that over time, there were new clone strains introduced, and then they even conscripted guys to be Storm Troopers. So it's not just purely clones: It started out as clones, but then it got diluted over the years as they found out they could shanghai guys [more cheaply] than they could build clones. - George Lucas. Source A possible explanation to account for this, is that the recruits just filled the roles of officers, pilots, specialists, etc. Or it could just be that they have strict physical requirements for who can become a stormtrooper. Shok_Tinoktin
I'm not sure what you're asking, but here are a few examples: And they are not all Jango clones. They have different sizes (lengths) in the movies, different voices and George Lucas spelled it out! The issue is settled. There is nothing to argue about. You could just as well argue if Vader really is Anakin, ffs (for fu#%s sake)!
