Rok_stoned
I was thinkinng and I came up with two ideas for features the first was the word count feature. why not make it when u hover over it it shows you word count? the second is a spell check feature. any one else with an idea please post here! Fortnox
thatd be cool, although it would probbably mean more coding and messing around with the server that was only recently ficed, and its probbably best not to tempt fate! yea, Ki Adi Mundi agrees
Rok_stoned
just my 2 cents if no one did difficult stuff no1 would get better and we would have no computers but I appreciate your comment.
ChAiNz.2da
Lucasforums is rumored to be shifted over to VB3 in the near future, allowing for more advanced features (such as mouseover tallies)... Perhaps with that upgrade, alot of the forum suggestions may be included as well...
Darth333
Well you already have a count character feature (the check message lenght feature just under the white window when you post). Word count is a bit irrelevant for the forums as message size limit is 40 000 characters. As for spell checking, I have never seen it in any forums You can always type your messages in a word processor then check it. Also, the admins will be launching the vb3 version very soon (probably within a few weeks) and there will be some other new features.

Rok_stoned
your point is taken darth but many seem to have spelling issues which can sometimes lead to confusion (or confusionism but thats rare cases) misunderstandings and wasted time. using a word procesesor is a good alternative but do you think every1 will take the time to check EVERY post they make just because it MIGHT have an error. forgive me if I appear over zealous theeres a little Simon Zealotes in all of us. Darth333
Well I agree with you thatnot everyone will take time to do this (and that includes me - I only have a French spell checker installed anyways). But just imagine the coding it would require... Plus I don't think people would use it that much. I make a lot of mistakes myself: like many other members here, English is not my mother tongue (in fact it's my 3rd language). It's nice to see when people make an effort to spell correctly but they should not be afraid to post on the boards because of this. We're here to have fun after all
Emperor Devon
^^^ English isn't your native language? You type it more fluently than a lot of other members. A spell checker might actually be a bad idea. Someone could misspell a word, and the spell checker might mistake it for a word other than what they wanted to type. RevanA4
thats a problem with all spell checkers it also doesn't work if you spell the wrong word correctly

Well thanks but my native language is French. Then Spanish, English, Italian and a little bit of German and Inuktitut (Inuit - or Eskimo - language) and a tiny bit of Quechua (also known as the Inca language) . Although we encourage people to make efforts when they type, this is not an English classroom

That would be quite devastating I know something like this won't happen till... probably a long time away, but realtime posting where there is no refreshing would be sweet. Just seeing posts appear and peoples post counts going up in front of your eyes... And I also agree, a spellchecker would be useful for some, but I wouldn't use it; Im sucha goood sppeler neways i dnt ned it.

RevanA4
he means auto refresh which has to be coded in each individual page so I don't think it is possible unless you want to create a ccs page:cool: and applie it to all the pages
Jeff
Basically whar JG said. Like when somebody posts in a forum you are in, it just appears instead of you having to refresh your browser.

Everyone has a different background and interests. I used to move from place to place so I had to learn most of these languages anyways. On the other hand, I terribly suck in some other areas (just like everyone)

Darth333
that sentence sounds weird when I re-read it...let's say it was a late friday evening post I mean everyone has areas in which they are weak and others where they are strong . Photoshop is definitely one of my weak areas (and it's the reason why you will never see a kotor skin signed Darth333 ) but it's definitely not your case . Now I should really stop posting past a certain time in the day...it would prevent me from bringing threads off topic
