Bob Lion54 Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 James Doohan, the actor that played "Scotty" on the original Star Trek passed away a few days ago. This is very sad news. I know he was only and actor, but over half of NASA's staff was inspired by him. Â Â Â Â Â Â RIP MR. Scott

ChAiNz.2da Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 ^^^  Don't forget the "Scotty Theory" to implement  If your boss asks for a project deadline, always give them an estimation "with extra padding" so they'll feel "better as a boss" when they talk you down... and you wind up with the proper amount of time you needed in the first place  Farewell Mr. James Doohan -aka- "Scotty", and thanks for all the great memories...

I read the first line and knew what you meant...lol  I do it all the time. I said to a fellow worker the other day. "Always give your boss 3 times the time estimate". That way when your done in 1/3 the time you look like a miracle worker
