tags Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 whoo-hoo! another crazed ac/dc fan! check out the thread titled "one of those threads where..." and give my last post an AMEN!! Best guitarist 1. Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) 2. Slash (Guns N' Roses) 3. Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple) 4. Jimi Hendrix 5. Angus Young (AC/DC) Malcom Young is actually better than Angus but he's the shy guy and Angus is just seen and heard more.

Gary Moore 7. Brian May (Queen) 8. Joe Satriani 9. Steve Vai 10. David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) Looks like the people who voted don't know what a "shredder" is
Tyrion Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Led Zeppelin was pretty damn talented. Of all the famous British bands, I would say they're the best in that regard. The most talented group that would've existed would've been Beck's Bolero, with Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page on guitar, John Paul Jones on bass, Nicky Hopkins on piano and Keith Moon on drums. Too bad it didn't work out though. Oh and judging from your screename, you thought ac/dc should've been number one? Heh... Although judging from that list Robert Plant scored too high and David Gilmour and Roger Waters scored too low.
ACDC_Fanatic Posted August 1, 2005 Author Posted August 1, 2005 Actually, It should've been Vocals-Freddy Mercury Guitar-Jimmy Hendrix Bass-John Entswile Drums-Mitch Mitchell

I totally agree with you there and btw, IMO AC/DC didnt' deserve to be #1 but Brian Johnson should've been higher

About the poll: Don't care much about those kinda things, I have my own opinions about rock bands, so I don't care what the rest of the world thinks. Besides, there will always be people disagreeing with these type of polls.

Acrylic Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 JPJ doesn't deserve the best bassist spot. Entwistle was IMO, more talented than JPJ. And I think Roger Daltrey was far too low on the best singer spot. *sigh* Well, at least all the members of Zep topped the lists. Glad to see that.
toms Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I sense maybe a concerted effort on behalf of Led Zepplin forum members? ;-) That said, I'm not sure i can argue for any of the LZ members NOT being number one in their list. Though I'd definately have ranked Hendrix higher.. Daltrey too.
Sabretooth Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 It was all an evil conspiracy! A conspiracy made by Satanists! Isn't Stairway to Heaven the same song, which, if played back becomes a Satanist hymn?
Hermie Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 It was all an evil conspiracy! A conspiracy made by Satanists! Isn't Stairway to Heaven the same song, which, if played back becomes a Satanist hymn? That myth is as fake as the one claiming AC/DC stands for Anti-Christ/Devils Child. The "Alice Cooper killed a chicken on stage" is real though... :|
Pie™ Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 The "Alice Cooper killed a chicken on stage" is real though... :| Not really, someone threw a chicken up on the stage, and he thought it could fly, so he just flinged it away. It landed among the audience, who ripped it apart.
El Sitherino Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 This is the worst thing I have ever seen. ... You must be new to the internet, allow me to say hello and welcome.

CapNColostomy Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 *points and laughs at all of the lists and everyone on them*

It landed among the audience, who ripped it apart. I heard that he was handed the chicken. But still, he did kind of technically sort of kill it.
Vikinor Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Strange. Still Led Zeppelin rocks, Satan worshippers or not.
Pie™ Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Bah, amateurs. My music you don't have to play backwards to hear satanic messages.
ZBomber Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 ... You must be new to the internet, allow me to say hello and welcome. hello.jpg! Best singer And WHERE is Steven Tyler? Like them or not, Steven Tyler has a great vocal range and makes great songs. And I didn't see Mr. Van Halen on there for guitars either. I'm not sure you can say Malcolm Young is better, he taught Angus, but then Angus just got better, and he plays more out of energy, which is why the notes are off sometimes when he does his solo during Let There Be Rock
toms Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 The listeners also seem to have stopped listning to music sometime in the mid 80s, as there doesn't seem to be a single newer artist on there. While they probably haven't been around long enough to build up the aclaim of those on the list, people like Johnny Marr, Mat Belamy, Flea & Tom Morello probably deserve to be on there. Dave Grohl seems to be the only recent one (from what i remember).
Hermie Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 The listeners also seem to have stopped listning to music sometime in the mid 80s, as there doesn't seem to be a single newer artist on there. That's because it all went downhill from there. Damn you, grunge, damn you...
