Has anyone the MAJORITY of the info is all talk about the imperails and SOME on the rebels? not to mention the MAJORITY of the videos is on the imperials if not all....Express your thoughts on this and if you agree etc.

Good I plan to play as the empire. Well all jokes aside I think it has to do with the time frame. This is Empire country, hell the rebels in the movies are supose to win one battle in this time frame.

Ok it's based around the imperials but there are only 2 sides in this game! If you give one too much attention than.... BOOOOOOO!!!!

 

But seriously, I'm just thinking that the imps are more interesting since their arsenal is bigger.

Exactly there is 2 sides, and one shouldn't get more attention...

No matter how great the Imperial arsenal might be, being able to sabotage a Star destroyer (like in Rebellion) could create some serious problems for the Empire. The rebels must have some freedom in the game to move their overall base because of their hit and run tactics.

 

If these elements are taken from Rebellion, it will be a very interesting game indeed

in the homeworld series and other rts it was centered around the main race hiigarian and others in the other rts. EaW..is taking place before ANH which is supposed to be about the empire...and its conquest...but i do see what your saying since its also supposed to show you how the rebellion was born

Although the majority of videos may be about the imperial forces, they are usually about the imperials getting beat up. We dont really see them killing rebel forces, except in a few select videos. They may be either still perfecting rebel forces or just waiting to reveal more to build up hype.

That's what i mentioned in another thread, that all trailers show off Imps...............well, i like the good guys, so, i'll play rebs, even if they have only infiltrators for unit

 

[edit] Even the home page of eaw.net shows more imp ships and only two small rebel ones

I agree its all in the name. Empire at War....show of the Imps. Rise of the Rebellion or something more rebel stuff. Dont fear though I sure both sides are great in game play. This move was a marketing thing since Revenge of the Sith just came out. Empire fever sweeping crost the land.

Well in this timeline the Rebellion was a tiny little cell group with no capital ships and few others. The Empire had just finished the galaxy and controlled all except the Chiss but including the Hapans. Therefore i think it SHOULD focus on the Empire and make the Rebellion have to steal Imperial ships for a while before they can produce big Mon Calamaris and corvettes.

Please don't compare this game to Homeworld, you'll kill my enthusiasm for it! I couldn't stand that game. *shudders*

 

Anywho, I'm gonna love playing as the Empire, but I feel that the rebels will give me a greater sense of accomplishment. In fact, I love games where you have to take your creative side and apply it every now and then.

i love Thrawn as a Character hes just so brilliant but i'm rebel through and through so u think that they should put more on the REbels cause there isnt that much it revolves mainly around the DS.

Somebody complained about the fact that too much focus was put on the Romans in Rome: Total War

 

Seriously though, I'm not too bothered by this. They'll release more information on the Rebels at a later date.

Also, the Imperials are probably more popular which could explain why most of the info is about the Empire. They might be trying to appeal to the biggest segment of fans first.

I agree with luke, the game is called Star Wars: Empire at War. So it would make sense that most of the Imperial information is shown before the Rebellion. By the game's name this would makes sense.

Well of course it should be focused a lot on the empire, but come on no movies on the rebels? Also, the rebels are important in this game, may i remind you the forming of the rebel alliance happened during this time? You say that isn't important?

In the 2nd trailer as well, they show the Rebels winning over the Imperials as they get away from the planet(e.g. three x-wings & transports). As well during some of the battle squences the Rebels are winning.

More information on the rebels will be released in time, of course they want to save the good guys for last, and for us this just means a long wait. Of course, the Empire is the *better* team =).

In the most part the Empire was the stronger through-out the movies so I guess I would agree with you. It seems recently I have somehow started some questioning...But anyways since I am an all empire player I nothing else to say but, it is hard being patiant for the demo, because once the demo is out a LOT of out question will be answered.
