Shall i give some extra info about GW?

-Weapons: You can upgrade each weapon with 2 upgrades, and it even sometimes has an internal upgrade, like +15% dmg when enchanted orso.

Diversity, that's it ;)

-Graphics: It's awesome. When you first enter the forest at Ascalon, you see bundles of liggt falling through the trees, and you'll see leaves dropping.

My mate plays it on 800x600, and the light effects are still superb.

-Teamplay: You can make interesting team strategies, using the combined skills of your 2 professions. An Elementalist with a pet? A Warrior with a bow?

-IntercontinentalPvP: Several arena's are placed across the GW world, and some can be entered by a Pre-made PvP character. One of these Arena's features something cool: Intercontinental PvP. Koreans, Americans and Europeans trying to beat eachother.

Because, Good guys are so lame.....they always win.....no matter what movie we see orgame we play with the exception of KOTOR & KOTOR II, The hero's always win. Its so damn predictable. When I play a MMORPG or watch something, For once, I would love to see evil Triumph. It adds a nice change to things, makes it less predictable, and more interesting.

Example: Don't ya ever get sick of Luke Skywalker winning the battle, no matter who he fights. No matter what happens you know that good guy is always gonna survive, and single handedly destroy the bad guys. wouldn't it be nice just to see the Darkness tip the scales for once and prevail.

I agree, it would be a good change if the bad guys won once in a while, but the thing is, people don't want that. People like to know that the good guys always win. They feel more secure when they sleep, even though they know that its merely a movie.

Another book where the bad guys win is M.T. Anderson's "Feed".

Also, any story by Anton Chekhov has a morally ambiguous ending.

The "good" characters don't ALWAYS win in the end. For example,

Doctor Startsev starts out as the hero, despising the petty and

vulgar attitudes and lifestyles of the people in his hometown,

but in the end, Startsev ends up mired in this same lifestyle.

Nineteen Eighty Four is similar. The main character, Winston Smith, begins the novel hating Big Brother, the Party, and all they stand for, but in the end "falls to the dark side" and becomes a mindless servant of the Party.

Try thinking of this forum as an mmorpg, it's extremely addictive, there's tons of insane npcs, if you manage to PWN someone the victory is so much sweeter (unless it results in a mod pwning you in return), who needs the ability to summon balls of fire when you can post things like this-:twogun:-cool huh, and most importantly IT'S FREE :D

Has anyone ever made one where you only play as the villains?

World of WarCraft is great if you like the WarCraft universe.

I never played any warcraft game before I tried WoW, and damn I got hooked.

I got both Guild Wars and WoW. Hardly played GW though as to me WoW shines on so many aspects. Lore wise definitely warcraft as it is very extensive and you do have the ability to fulfill your roleplaying needs ;)

Both games are strong in customisation. While you can change the size of the char in GW, the armor is all the same. Items never played an important role in GW. However in WoW the class is more important and GW focuses more on "positions", anti caster etc. In GW you can only have 8 spells in your bar, and spec points in "kind of spells". While in WoW you have 3 major talent trees, but the classes have no 8 spell thing restrictions. You use a lot more stuff, and feel more like the class IMO while GW is mostly a "nuke 1 target" game. WoW has crowd control ('mez'), aggro management etc.

If you don't mind monthly fees, I really recommend WoW.

Ehm...

Guild Wars armor isn't all the same :S

Each class has some stats specific armor, collectors armors, 15k armors, Fissure Armor, etc.

Sure, it ain't as big as WoW, i know that. But remember: GW uses gameplay instead of big massive (dare i say it; Very Cool) Enormous worlds like WoW does.

It does make GW a bit....'small' though. But i'm just not fond of the WoW graphics and gameplay. You will have your screen full with skills. In GW, you have to choose 8, and do what you have to do.

If you can pay it, and are willing to spend tons of hours into exploring an enormous world with many fantastic WoW-NPC's (Where is Arthas btw :( ), you should buy WoW, it think. It beats all the other Mmorpg's.

If you don't want to pay bigtime, but still live a bit of the experience of WoW, and using a better ( ? ) gameplay, GW is your thing.

True,

But i've read about the Burning Crusade, and they add a new dimension, but didn't add the Mountaisn where the Frozen Throne is.

Also, the undead now only have Lady Silvanas Windrunner...and she's (was) Alliance. Don't you think Arthas should return and give them an old fashion spanking with Frostmourne? I think he should reclaim leadership over the undead...

"Northrend" isn't accessible yet. But there are hundreds of warcraft npcs in-game. Crusade will add more such as Illadan.

The interface is incredibly customisable in WoW. A lot of addons to fulfill one's needs :p

from http://users.skynet.be/alegis/wow/ui.jpg to http://members.home.nl/m.royal/BIGPIMPIN.jpg to http://www.thagroov.be/WoW/UI/ThorganUI.jpg to http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=12/34612094359.png&s=x10 etc. It ain't as messy :p Sure more spells. But at least not limited :p

And I meant GW armor looks. It was about customising. Still, in the time I lvled my GW char to 20 I used... 2 item drops ? And changed armor at a NPC 2 times. Just like every other dude; no variety there.

Played some more GW today, and the difference is incredible. I suggest you try out both. Difference in trading (WoW structurised, trade channel with "linkable" items instead of random stat spamming), difference in team mentality (in GW people leave dungeons all the damn time or are just random noobs who rush in on everything), difference in gameplay. GW is a lot easier (PvE wise, yes I know it's a PvP oriented game), too easy to a certain point. Everyone can just click something and go the toilet and come back and the room will be down. The only strategy is just spamming one target. Still, it has its fun sides.

I recommend WoW, and GW as an alternative. Aint pay to play anyways :p

But be warned, you'll spend a lot of time on it. Addicting it is.

@Alegis:

I agree, but you do sound a bit to negative on GW.

You can't just go there and bash :p the Koreans will smack you ass before you ahd the chance to say 'Dogeaters.'

But i must confess. I wanted to buy WoW, but instead, i waited for my mate to buy it. When he ended the relation with his girl (beautifull girl, serious!) so he could play WoW more, i decided i didn't want that.

But i did beta-test it, and i had the 10 day trial. It is a bigger game then GW, and that's what it's all about in mmorpg land ;)

GW is for quik SUPER-cool missions. WoW is for long ULTRA-cool missions.

Sorry i couldn't respond faster..

@LIYD: Damn Right, i totally agree. And don't worry about the offense. It's not like he'll read thos or something :p

@ IS: Even more funnier: The sister of my mate's Ex-GF, has a realation with another friend of my, and she quitted it because he played WoW the whole day, too :p

To conclude:

If you prefer loving a ork above loving your girl, WoW is your thing :p
