was on galaxies all day today....kinda sad really, but it was fun. killed 4 rebel bases on the outskirts of a rebel city on Naboo...then I headed to the main pvp place and fought for a good 30 minutes before logging off. gonna get paycheck tomorrow, prolly get a haircut and maybe get my eyes examined.

woke up and went to go get my haircut, decided to go with just clippers and not get it shaved off..

then went out for breakfast w/my mom, went to walmar tto get some dogfood and then got back to my parents' house and watched v for vandetta, the sentinel, and over the hedge all in a row. now i'm tired and depressed.

tomorrow a towing company is coming to pick up my buick lesabre as i called a donation place and am donating it to them (hoping i dont have to pay the towing fee!)........anyways then might go out and go hunting for a little bit before work. I dunno. It's starting to snow here, well starting as in it's just flurries and the ground isn't so soft to walk on.

My next missions are to get a new pair of shoes for work and after that, get eye exam and ditch these old glasses for some contacts. So sick of not being able to see clearly out the corners of my eyes. It's gonna cost me $90 for the eye exam alone, which kinda sucks....but it best be worth it. hopefully i can my daily disposable contacts like i had before. hopefully they're not too expensive..

Yesterday and today are the first 2 days off in a row that I've had in weeks.

Didn't get squat accomplished yesterday (other than catching up on sleep, takin' it easy, and doing a couple of things that seemed fun...) so today has to be my big "chore" day... since it looks like it will be over a week before I get another day off at all.

Partial 'To-Do' list:

Take in the hose and lawn furniture

Laundry

Clean cat boxes

Change sheets and blankets on bed so I can run the heat a bit lower at night

My Strat broke yesterday. One of the fine tuners on the bridge stripped out. I had to disable all the locking stuff this morning in order to play it. I'm thinking it's time to drop it off at the repair shop and get it re-built. A new bridge, tuners, pickups, and a full fret job seem to be way overdue. If I had time I'd probably do the work myself... but that seems out of the question at the moment.

I might do that this week... might as well use some of this overtime money I'm earning to some good use.

Unless all that work comes to so much that it seems cheaper to just buy a new one...

I traded my older bike for a truck sunday.

66 Ford F-100 with a 302 HO from a 82 mustang, edlebrock upper and lower intake manifold and 4-bbl carb.

rust isnt too shabby at all, interior has been slightly redone, its driveable fine, but it needs work for sure, but I traded an older bike for it, andit has a cab that keeps me dry in the rain on the way to work!

I'll post pictures up later I deliever the bike to the guy tomorrow, I have to do some work on her tonight unfortunately, but oh well.

speaking of dentists....

i was eating a big mac today for supper, and part of my upper left wisdom tooth fell off and got swallowed with it. did somebody say mcdonalds?

now the tooth is pretty sharp..., what are the chances of it getting infected like that and needing pulled before the holidays? i'm kinda fraid to have top portion of my mouth messed with, as that is very close to my brain, and i HATE being unconscious.

Is that what the kids are calling it these days? :dozey:

You'll grow hair on your palms if you keep that up. ;)

Had to take a day off today.

It was a loooooooong weekend of work. 4 showings of the latest Warren Miller extreme ski movie, and Bill Frisell's orchestra last night. Although all of it was easy... they were still some pretty long days. (Made a nice chunk of change on it though...)

Working straight up to next Sunday again this week. So if I didn't take today off, it would have been close to 2 weeks without a break.

Haven't finished the laundry, so I'll have to tackle that.

Other than that though, I think I'm just gonna try to take it as easy as I can. I'm already totally burnt now... if I push it another week I'll be sick as a dog for Thanksgiving.

Finally got DSL where I live. It took me about 40 minutes to figure that I probably better stop fiddling around with the DSL-modem's installation CD under Windows because it kept telling me that "the driver hasn't been properly installed" (Darn Windows, I clicked 'install', what are you supposing me to do to, when there's nothing else to check or click?!?? Just shut face and get lost!! >: ) and thus screw "testing if it works at all" under Windows before I go try make it work under Linux.

From then it was like: set CD on fire (5sec) - boot Linux (1min) - apt-get pppoeconf (25sec) - run pppoeconf (15sec) => et violine: dl electric sheep porn :dozey:

what the hell do you need a truck for? unless you're gonna haul dirt or have a lot of outdoor gear that you need to tote, or are a construction worker, you're a poseur and will be constantly begged by your friends to help them move.

haul cars and motorcycles. I currently am rebuilding a car engine, and so is my friend, we are hoping to be renting a LARGE garage/shop space soon, I could easily haul the cars over there with it. I also got tired of watching all these great deals on cars/bikes that need work pass me buy b/c I couldnt borrow a truck fast enough to go haul it home. so its for towing, and its a project for me, I am going to hotrod the piss out of it hopefully. ported heads, more aggressive cam, eaton M112 roots blower, forged bottom end, EFI, prolly a 3.73 posi rear. unless I spend all that $$ on motorcycle stuff

my dad will prolly borrow it atleast twice a month to haul wood too, as he currently borrows his buddies truck to do it instead

I live in the country, so I can get away with owning a truck and not being out of place. And they don't bother doing anything to our roads in the winter. Nothing sucked quite as much as not even being able to get on the road because your car bottoms out when there's four inches of snow on the ground.

30, huh?

Heh heh heh... Speaking of hair...

Pretty soon you'll be growing hair in all kinds of places that no one could find any logical use for, (and that's without any input from you...) and losing it in the one place where it might actually look good.

Welcome to getting older. Enjoy the stay... 'cause it could last a while. :D

its not exaclty fair to point the finger at windows, maybe the driver just sucks

Nute, then buy a suburu or some other car with 4-wheel drive. with gas prices being what they are (even though they are better) there's really no excuse to buy a vehicle that gets poor mileage unless you actually have a utilitarian use for it. Otherwise you're no better than a soccer mom who insists she needs a Hummer so she "feels safe".

Yes, but it's the driver made for Windows which sucks. :p

Nah, the point was rather that I was getting the same error message over and over again, no matter what I did. The setup for the customer software just kept complaining about the modem-driver not being properly installed. So yes, it wasn't Windows' fault at all, but this proprietary software shyte-nes was failing blatantly. By now I installed the Windows PPPoE protocol and configured a network connection to use it and it's working fine too, without the ISP's crap.

However, I never intended to use Windows, just wanted to test if DSL is already working, because the ISP announced it to be ready for tomorrow, but I couldn't wait. I knew I "castrated" my kernel to be without any pppoe support, in fact I took all the crap out I didn't need, so I expected problems here and I didn't want to recompile. In the end, I took my Kanotix Live-CD, and within 2 minutes I figured my ISP's service is better than its software. :D

To make a point, yes, using everything Windows led to success as quick as Linux did. ;)

Ed - Strangely enough, I don't "suffer" from much hair, in fact I am almost naked like a newporborn err.. fish? My beard is not really grown up yet, and for the rest .. well I have girls who know how to shave it rightey. :naughty:

Hm. Although, my nose seems to be trying to compensate what my beard appears not to be able to, and if I remember right, I had to assassinate my first grey hair 2 months ago, but that was before the "30", so I don't see a clear connection here. Nonetheless, I'm not growing old, but wise. :PP

That hard drive which has been threatening to fail from some time now has been getting more and more interesting. Serious crash this morning,.. and for a while I didn't think it was going to re-boot... but now it's back.

I think I'll leave it on 24/7 for a while now, just to keep it going.

I should be able to slap the new drive in during the couple of days I have off around Thanksgiving.

Plus, with all this extra work I've been doing, as well as cashing in a bunch of paid days off I'll never be able to use, my savings are finally up to the point where I can seriously start to plan for a replacement. Whoopee!
