popcorn2008
Good news indeed, well at least that means it has to have some pretty cool stuff in it. Thats gonna take a while even on dsl to download! Makes the wait that much better, knowing we will get something well worth the download and delays. ActofWar
Thats bigger than i thought it was going to be.....Glad i did a format on my computer a couple of nights ago. edmendduke55555
Wow... almost 1 GB... I should have enough space, all's left is to determine whether my video card wants to let me play the game >_>
Admiral Sith
I have to get my Stepdad to download it at his friends place, 53k internet should never try to download such a big file
Fangman
One problem with this, i think Gamespot are gonna be hosting the file, and unless your subscribed (ie paying monthly) then you can only download at a certain rate. I have seen more and more sites hosting large trials and demos (MMOs mainly) using Bit Torrent. Think this would be a good option.
DarkLeeLee
the hell with trying to download that with dial up lol, probably take me to 17th feb to do it, i think i will just read the feedback from it and wait for the real version
Athanasios
Just need to remmber to redownload Getright, to make it quicker Mate, Download Accelerator Plus is way better than Getright; believe me, i tried Getright and it does nothing (black ad here but it's true ). Well, this is the bigger "demo" i've seen so far. I expected it to be big, since 5 tutorial missions is not something to underestimate, but the correct word for this is "enormous" . Well, im sure that this demo will keep us down on our chairs till 17th February Thanks again to Petro and Lec (*cough cough* thanks going mainly to Petro...) darthfergie
meh...that means I won't be putting it on my comp for a month or so till I get the disk. 750mb would take about a month to download on this connection (it's fast in short bursts, but even DAP ends up slowing to a crawl after about an hour) so I figure it comes out even. Athanasios
DarkLeeLee, darthfergie and to everyone with slow internet connection; here are two gateways for your problem. 1. Sneak into a university public computer station* and download the demo. Most unis around the world have T3 or cable which mean you'll be done within 30mins. Then, you insert it to a flash disk (or burn it on a cd if possible) and you're done. If you're not a student (so no pass in the public station) you may enter if you have a friend student. (*at least in Greece we have such stations). Personally, although by Wednesday i'll probably have 1mbps dsl connection (now is 384), im thinking of downloading the demo from my uni; 400 and 500kB/s is always better than 1mbps. Yet, if the server is slow, i'll just let my server in the other room downloading all the night - DAP will do the rest f the work (shutdown etc etc). 2. Get in an internet cafe, download it and copy it on a flash disk. In most internet cafes burning a cd has an outrageous cost, so i don't recommend this. Also, you will have to pay the minimum internet usage...
Jeff
You can't burn it because CDs only hold 650 mb. Though you could burn it to a dvd if a dvd burner is available.

Guest DarthMaulUK
We will be using BITorrent for the demo, but that probably wont be until 24 hours after its release as I havent the time to convert it and upload it. DMUK

That's the short hand, I don't really feel like going in to detail. Don't think it would take just 30 minutes though considering the demo will have just come out, the transfer speeds won't be racing and the lines for various download sites will be long. *shrug* 2. I'm on a university campus in rural town USA. No internet cafes. Nor do I feel like driving over an hour to get to a place that does. Plus my 1GB flash drive has all sorts of projects and such for classes that take up about half of the space. heh *shrug* C'est la Vie call me lazy, but oh well. I think I'll survive until I grab an issue of PCGamer with the demo CD.

bigbigewok
I hope this demo doesn't have a play timer I hope we can play it over and over I don't like demo's that have restrictions Demo's that can only be played a number of times And that is it. All done. No more playing.
Darth Alec
I can handle it easy, just installed a new harddrive with 79 GB of free space, the problem is to get it down in time.
