Favourite Droids ??

Yes, R2-D2 my be my one of my favourite characters. But this doesn't really belong here. It's spam.

Obi Wan, I'm going to have to give a friendly reminder not to moderate on our behalf.

I personally would love to discuss R2 and astromechs :)

R2 is definitely one of my fave characters EVAR. However, he does whine and scream like a wuss at times. R2 had some great screen time in ROTS, which was fun to see :)

You watch R4, obi wans astromech, both in AOTC(whne he was only a head), and in ROTS(when he was completed).

Getting shot at by Jango or even ripped apart by buzz droids didnt make him trill or whine as much as R2 would.

My other fave astro droid is one from EU, called "Whistler" He belongs to Jedi Knight Corran Horn, and definitely has a great spirit like artoo does. Theres a really cool chapter of an EU novel entirely focuing on him carrying out a mission :)

shyte.... yeah, I forgot to include HK-47 :) That is one awesome bag o' bolts ! Speaking of kicka$$ droids, we cant leave out IG-88 and 4-LOM :)

The Spider droids in Jabba's Palace were very interesting. Theyre actually powered by the brains of monks ! In EU, Bib Fortuna actually gets imprisoned in one by an unhappy Bounty Hunter...

Meh, it was too much comic relief. Everything R2 did on the Invisible Hand was overdone, and the battle droids' new voices didn't help either. :headbump

What other comic relief is there in the movie? They probably felt they should put it in because the rest of the film is so dark and tragic.

True, but why sacrifice one of the better sequences in the movie for some lame attempt at comedy? I think it would have done the movie better if jokes akin to the dialogue between C-3PO and R2 in the original trilogy were used instead.

I used to like the battle droids, back in TPM when they had cool, not girly, voices. Super battle droids are a cool concept, but they always came off as pretty weak to me in AOTC and ROTS. I always was interested in the IG assassin droids, but there's not really a lot of material about them (Incidently, I thought the story where IG-88 becomes the Death Star central computer was horrible).

sorry, its just that that's all they seem to say. [/sARCASM].

Still, HK takes the crwon. Although he's only in the KOTOR games, he can talk as well as being usefull. And an assasin. R2 can be useful, but can't really talk. C3-POcan talk, but is just iritating.

Whistler was a cool droid, but his buddy, Gate (Wedge's 'droid after Mynock got a mem wipe) is just as cool... i also admire the R2 units in the Jedi StealthXs....those droids put up with alot of work, as the StealthX is such a high mat. vehicle type. OH! for those whom dont know this, R2-D2, since he has NEVER had a mem wipe for as long as the series stands so far, has been in one X-Wing (Lukes obv.) for so long that the X-Wings computer has molded itself around R2's personality, and this makes it impossible for techs to work on Lukes ship without R2D2 there to translate for the computer.....thought that was a riot!
