When you reach the darkside...

I have several questions, first I have the official strategy guide for KOTOR and when you join Bastila with the darkside you return to your party at the Ebon Hawk and it says that Carth flees (UNLESS YOU KILL HIM!) How? of all the times I've played the game and gone over to the darkside I was unable to kill Carth he always runs away! And it also says that you can persuade Zaalbar to kill Mission! How? My force persuasion was at its maximum and it didn't work.

Is the guide wrong? I'm beginning to think it is. When you go to the darkside how can you kill Carth? and how do you persuade Zaalbar to kill Mission?

The only way to kill Carth is...

...to be Female Revan, and have Carth fall in love with you. He'll then confront you on the Star Forge after you have defeated Darth Malak.

I once persuaded him to kill Mission. It will work if you are set up correctly. My alignment was totally dark, Charisma was out of balance, persuade skills had been increasing from the beginning, all clothing and crystals associated with persuade were being used.

I can't remember the exact level of persuade, but it was pretty high. Persuasion has to be part of your direction during gameplay.

But, yes, it can be done.

Oh, and by the way, welcome.

The Affect and Dominate Mind Force Power always work when trying to get Zaalbar to kill Mission.

True but that only happens if you have the mod that recovers the cut stuff otherwise you never see Carth again since he just runs away.

Not true. You don't need a mod for this to happen.

You only need a mod to have Carth redeem you. Without the mod, you will always kill Carth in that situation or Bastila will.

Take your mod out and test it out sometime. I'm sure there are others here that can confirm that. Besides, I had that happen originally on the X-Box before I ever bought the game for the PC or even knew that modding for KOTOR was possible. This happened for me before the game ever came out for the PC back in mid to late '03.

I swore I saw a dialogue choice..(forgot how2 use spoliers..)

SPOILER BELOW READ @ UR OWN DISCRETION

During a heated argument, between Carth and I, I came across the dialogue choice saying 'Time For You To Die Carth!' I have no clue, if he persuades not to or what exactly happens, but i've came across it and never tried it -_-.

Plus i was a MALE ds Revan.
