RaV™
That's suppose to be good for FPS? Well okay I suppose..
Lynk Former
Yes, cause now you can look and turn using the Revmote (right) and move around with the Analog attachment (left). Also I've just listened to IGN... Wii.. podcast, the editors pretty much confirmed at the Analog attachment does have motion sensing abilities like the Revmote. Which means not only will you be able to look/turn with gestures, but now you could do so much more like jump, crouch, lean and much more without having to press any buttons at all. stoffe
That's suppose to be good for FPS? Well okay I suppose.. Maybe if you are playing a Star Trek game where it would feel like you are holding a phaser. Or if they release a new controller with a gun grip. At least such a controller would probably prevent you from playing too long. You'll likely get pretty tired in your arms by holding those things up in the air for extended periods of time. For the record, I'd pronounce it "Whee!".
Lynk Former
Out of curiosity, you don't work for Nintendo do you? This is information you can get from common websites such as IGN and Joystiq. At least such a controller would probably prevent you from playing too long. You'll likely get pretty tired in your arms by holding those things up in the air for extended periods of time. You don't need to hold your arms out, you handle it like a regular controller.
Alegis
They're going to do some brand new stuff with this console, not a sheep console among the herd but something special. Hence the very special name, Wii (not "Nintendo Wii" or Nintendo Revolution or extreme console 3 etc..) to stand out even more. Wii is short, easily recognisable and pronounceable for the japanese etc. It's like a colored ad in a black and white ad page. Sure you can keep calling it the Revolution. To lure casuals and to-be-yet gamers this is a great move.
milo
Which means not only will you be able to look/turn with gestures, but now you could do so much more like jump, crouch, lean and much more without having to press any buttons at all. Yessss....now I can exercise and play video games at the same time, lol. Still, I think I'll stick with my gameboy.
Astrotoy7
Nintendo Wee, Poostation 3, and the CrapBox360. This is the future of gaming mtfbwya
The Source
I just have to do this... Little Bobby at the age of 6 goes up to mom and dad: Could you by a Wii, Wii? Or, two sibilings sitting in the car going to Toys-R-Us, and they are getting on the nerves of mom and dad: Wii, Wii, Wii, Wii, Wii, Wii, Wii, Wii, Wii. RaV™
I see many spoofs yet to come for this console. I MIGHT end up getting it, if Nintendo broadens their horizons with games.

Astrotoy7
still, we shouldnt be too suprised, Intel came up with a weird name for their new processor. also featuring "ii"... But yesm "wee" is a very catchy and clever name that anyone, especially nagging kids will remember, and terrorise their parents with. Funny name jokes aside, the true test of any of the consoles is the quality of the games and gameplay options they accept.... It will be interesting to see how things have settled, and the status quo, this time next year mtfbwya
RaV™
Like what? I find most of their games not as good as the other games on multiplatforms. Just in general. I suppose I spoke to soon on a wii joke? Got It Memorized?
Lynk Former
^ You're being pretty vague there, I don't get exactly which kinda games you're talking about since there are thousonds of games out there...
Darth InSidious
I'd guess Astro wants games that aren't so...idiosyncratically Nintendo...? Maybe something like Wipeout from the PSX? It must be said, these jokes are very wiik.
Bob Lion54
^ You're being pretty vague there, I don't get exactly which kinda games you're talking about since there are thousonds of games out there... I can answer that. Resident Evil 4......... er, hold a tick. RE4 looked better and handled better on the Game Cube than the PS2. The PS2 version was released A YEAR later than the GC version. So obviously Nintendo is the subpar system.
Lynk Former
I'd guess Astro wants games that aren't so...idiosyncratically Nintendo...? You mean "not kiddy"? There are plenty of those kinds of games, it's just that people choose to ignore them. Maybe something like Wipeout from the PSX? AHAHAHAHAH... it's called F-Zero, which is a Nintendo franchise. I can answer that. Resident Evil 4......... er, hold a tick. RE4 looked better and handled better on the Game Cube than the PS2. The PS2 version was released A YEAR later than the GC version. Astrotoy7
I'd guess Astro wants games that aren't so...idiosyncratically Nintendo...? gadamnit...leave me out of it!! I was speaking in very general terms. The FPS title that the new controller is being heavily promoted with(the name escapes) looks far from "kiddy" - show 'em some screens Lynky! It's simply because Nintendo particularly have the Mario-DK-Yoshi concept/games that they are inevitably generalised as being kiddy. Generalisations arent always accurate * * * More like a 3D mouse + more. +more indeed. Now I can see why gamers ares so *excited* by Nintendo's upcoming uber joystick gizmo!! mtfbwya

RedHawke
The Revmote is almost as good as the Rez Trancevibrator Rez Trancevibrator? Second thought... I don't want to know! OT: Even if this isn't a joke and Nintendo is going to actually call it the Wii, so what? What really matters is how cool it is or what it is capable of... just my thoughts. Darth InSidious
You mean "not kiddy"? There are plenty of those kinds of games, it's just that people choose to ignore them. Mmm...I dunno. Nintendo games all (yes, even the "not kiddy" ones) feel...odd to me. Maybe because I never really got into the whole Nintendo thing... AHAHAHAHAH... it's called F-Zero, which is a Nintendo franchise. *Arches eyebrow* fascinating.

Is it just the fact that it's made by Nintendo that turns you off or is it the gameplay or the fact that people will ridicule you? I know I've had morons telling me that I'm not a gamer cause I like The Wind Waker... *shakes head* XD
