RogueJedi86
Alright, I've had it with being moderatly nice. Either pay your respects to Steve, or STFU and GTFO. Aw, don't resort to such impolite anagrams. I think one of my posts got deleted(the one you quoted), but still. So.......shall I give up the devil's advocate thing and start mourning too? For me, Steve Irwin was like a personal Jesus. As an atheist, I don't really have someone to look up to. But Steve Irwin was there, the way he showed me a life more exciting than the one I live. All the times he saved the animal world, and the contributions to that zoo you mentioned, that was so great. The world lost a great man. I miss him. Ratmjedi
So I'm a few days late to this but I still feel sad for this guy. Now I didn't watch his show or anything like that, I just knew he had his own show and was a Wildlife Advocate. Ya he did seem a little annoying and over excited but he was teaching people about wildlife that you wouldn't see on a regular basis. Too me I picture him like a childhood icon like: Mr. Rogers, Jack Hannah, and Bill Nye the science guy was to us but for a diffrent generation. Now I don't think that he's being overpraised or anything like that. He died tragically but atleast he did go out doing something that he loved to do. And ya it seems kind of ironic that he died by all animals a stingray, but get some news on it and that stinger on his tail is as big as a bowie knife. Just another great guy that we've lost. RIP
RogueJedi86
One other ironic thing about it. He was filming a documentary about "Demystifying the Stingray", proving they aren't dangerous. I'd say that's a bit ironic too.

If that's his wish, then we have to respect it right?

Jared
R. I. P. Steve. At least he died like a man. Pulled that barb right out of his heart. Probably made him die faster too. He was a legend... And now will always be. Rest in peace man.

Elijah
I know Im a bit late to this but reading over some of the debates over weither or not people liked him or if people should care if he died or not, kinda fired me up... I'm extremely sad to hear about this, not only because of his image on TV and what not, but from personal experience, living in Australia for 6 months and just knowing how Aussies view Steve, the guy was your normal bloke, with a huge heart and an amazing story The thing thats bothering me is everyone saying he deserved it and what not, stuff like "He played with death all the time" "He died being an idiot" "The guy was crazy" In all seriousness, wheres your heart? The man spent every dime he made off his television show and his zoo, on conserving natural habbitat for animals, breeding programs, ect, ect... Now the reason it pisses me off so much is because people dont call Nukeular scientists insane because what they do is dangerous, they dont make insults when an underwater welder dies from an explosion, or when an astronaut dies in an accident, they dont call race drivers crazy when they crash doing what they are passionate about What Im saying is that what the man did was Dangerous, to some crazy. But at least respect the man for having the LOVE and the PASSION to do what he did, inspite of all those things, inspite of risks, the man loved animals, and he died trying to show people that reptiles, sharks, even stingrays, are not the blood thirsty creatures people make them out to be. He died, doing what he dedicated his life to do, it was no less dangerous, or stupid than any other Job. Anyone who believe they have the right to aruge with that, or disrespect the mans legacy, needs to get kicked in the mouth, straight up. REST IN PEACE STEVE IRWIN. TSR
i was reading the paper today (shock! intellectual me!) and was looking at the memorial they held for him. over 300million people tuned in to watch it. Now if thats not a legend, then... And also, you can tell he was a damn good dad, what with his (eldest?) daughter reading out that speech infront of all those people. I can barely do a Cisco presentation infront of 10 people without losing the plot and messing around, yet alone how many people there were at the memorial.Hats off to the family, and rest his soul. see you on the other side?
