This will probably cause the thread to get muddled but if that happens I’ll either create a new ‘database’ thread or just do a collection of posts at the end of this that is organised. So Phase 4 is basically creating the people that live within the ‘New Earth Territories’ (Don’t worry it’s only a filler name until we come up with something better). This means we’ll create all the groups that aren’t the military or affiliated with a colonies government. So I’ll do another type of creation sheet and do a couple of examples now so you get the idea of how to do it. At the moment I’m limiting everyone to 8 submissions so we don’t get two many. We’ll do a vote in around two weeks or when every thread participant has posted, the vote will be a simple yes or no to each group with a majority rules. ___________________________ Group Creation Sheet Name: The name of the group Type: Are they a Religion, Pirate fleet, corporation, Criminal Organisation or anything else you can think of. Location: Where are they located, Olympia, apex, Independent territories, etc. Description: What they do and other important facts about them ___________________________ So here are two of mine that can be used as examples… I’ll edit in more later. Name: The Children of Gaia Type: Religious Cult Location: Olympia and the Independent Territories Description: The Children of Gaia movement seemed to have formed after the end of the ‘Expansion War’(Again a filler name). They originated within Olympia on the coastal city of Pangaea by a man who named himself Oranus. The Religion has a single goal ‘To lead all of mankind back to Gaia(Earth)’. Around 20 years after the end of the war the Cult had grown and Oranus led all his followers to a planet, named Atlas, within the independent territories. Although they are a peaceful Religion they can defend themselves and have set up surface to orbit weapons around the settlement. After Oranus died his son took the name for himself and so did his son when he died. More recently The Children of Gaia have been getting more and more violent attacking freighters and small space stations. Claiming that they are looking for something that will show them the location of Earth. Name: Guerilla Arms Type: Corporation Location: Independent Territories Description: Guerilla Arms was one of the first organizations to set up in the independent territories after the ‘1st Haven Treaty’(yet again a filler name). As there would be no police or military presence within these territories, they knew there would be a demand for weapons. After finding a place to construct a space station they began to produce all kinds of weapons from ship mounted Mag-pulse turrets to standard handheld pistols. It was this corporation that discovered Laser technology while trying to make Mag-pulse weapons more efficient. This has made it one of the more successful Corporations as it got government contracts. Name: Amazons Type: Bounty Hunters Location: Everywhere except Apex Description: After the ‘Expansion War’ it was found that criminals were escaping into the independent territories where authorities couldn’t follow them. A group of female Olympian marines heard about this and didn’t like the idea of murderers and rapists getting away with their crimes. So the Women left the Navy and declared their independence from the Empires and went hunting for these criminals. Everytime they caught someone they were often compensated for their work and decided to become bounty hunters. Over the years they have grown beyond the Olympians and taken in women from all over the colonies to hunt bounties no matter if they are from a government or a freelance contract. They have no home world or space station but tend to rent places in the independent worlds. They are well armed and have many ships to bring people in dead or alive. Name: Athena Shipyards Type: Corporation Location: Olympia Federation Description: Although originally it belonged to the government it’s now owned and managed by a Corporation. Their main source of income is from the military as they construct, refit and repair all of their Star Wings and Star Ships. They do construct civilian ships from small to large transport ships. Name: Gate Jammers Type: Pirates Location: Independent Territories Description: Gate Jammers are a group of nomadic pirates that live on their large Space Ship ‘The Gate Jammer’. The Jammers work by disrupting the Hyper-gates and causing ships to exit out of the hyper-lane early, they then often board and take what they need from the ship. The Ship Works as it has an inbuilt brake gate and it lines it’s self up with a lane and then turns on the braking field. Once the target ship slows down the Gate Jammer launches smaller Star Wings armed with Mag-pulses to disable the Target. A boarding ship is then launched to board and steal from the ship, once they have finished they leave the target and Hyperspace away. Name: Gemini Mining Corp (G.M.C.) Type: Corporation Location: Independent Territories Description: The GMC is the largest mining entity in the New earth territories. The Corporation got its name as the founders were identical twins the sons of Nobles from the Olympia Federation. They started off by mining and refining metals on a planet they named Gemini after the corporation, they also found new minerals that had not been discovered anywhere else by that time. They sold to anyone who could afford their prices, government and independent alike. The corporation grew and due to the heavy and fast mining the planet, Gemini, had ran out of raw materials so the mining operations moved on to a new world. The planet of Gemini was turned into the administration base of the corporation as well as where all the sells took place making it a large spaceport. The corporation continued to grow and now it mines six planets across the Independent territories, Capricorn, Taurus, Aquarius, Pisces, Virgo and Leo. The planets mine many different natural resources from metals to Oils and gases. Many of them are former slaves, and a few are mutants who didn't want to work for the government. They have no fixed base, but move continuously to avoid being destroyed. Their forces are far inferior to those of the Apex government, and the fact that they will acccept all willing to work for their cause means that many of their members are weak. They're main base of opertions is located inside a large astroid which was once a mining facillity used by one of the government. It was abandoned once the astroid ran out of the matieral they were mining for, this left a large area for the Black Hand to expand on. Description:The Black Hand is a large Pirate / Terrorist cell which started not long after the war broke loose. The conflict was a perfect distraction for the Black Hand's activities. They would side one sides weapons or vessels, full well knowing that the blame would be casted on the opposing fraction. When the war came to an end, the Black Hand had allready earned enough wealth and power to not be effected. Of corse the first three years were hard but the Black Hand was soon able to return to it's former status. The Black Hand has also been caught causing major prison breaks, not because they believed they didn't do wrong, or any nobal reason like that. They know how much trouble the prisoners would stir up for the governments. Because that's where they earn money best, in times of choas. Quite recently, the Black Hand has gained powerfull ship, ship that should not be in the hands of such Pirates so each Government has issued a bounty out one each ship. There are four ships that are known: -The Ragnarök -The Helmet of Hades -The Thunderbolt of Zeus -The Hammer of Thor. It's supposed to be only 10 officers, but even that, I'm rethinking a bit... and the 'Navy', such as it is, is an entirely different group. The Haven Navy The Haven Navy is small enough that the title is purely speculative; they guess that, in the future, they might require a larger navy and have thus named this branch of the military, the Navy. Thirty small, fighter style craft are kept in a hangar on a 'Navy' base just outside the capital city. Fifteen highly trained pilots live there with their families. They are lead by two of the strongest telekines on the planet. The Commanders are two rare occurrences of having evolved full telepathic powers as well. With their telepathic powers, they unite the minds of the pilots flying with them, allowing the entire 'navy' to work together efficiently without getting in another's way. Fighter Craft Image: Haven Fighter Length: 8m Width (body): 2m Wingspan: 4m Crew: 1 Weapons: - 2 pulse cannons/ capable of firing 20 pulses each before recharging (40 total) - 2 missile launchers/ the ship contains three missiles per launcher (6 total) - telekinetic enhancement ---- causes a distinct increase in the range of powers of the pilot, enabling them to disrupt certain systems in their opponents' craft (weapons systems typically) The Haven Army Haven's army consists of 300 enlisted men, forming six squads of 50 men each. Each squad has two commanders. The twelve commanders report directly to the War Council, a six-member committee which reports to the General. In most cases, the soldiers do not carry any conventional weapons, relying entirely on their telekinesis. The commanders carry one projectile pistol; the War Council carry dual projectile pistols. The General carries a single projectile pistol and a ceremonial, but still lethal rapier. The Army is used mostly as a police force, though during the Conflict of Empires, they did split the battling forces and return them to their ships. The Twenty The Twenty report directly to the Advisors. They have the authority to override any other military decision. Every single one of them has the powers of both telekinesis and telepathy. They appear young, in their early to mid twenties. Only the Advisors know who they were before they entered service as the Twenty. They remain fully disconnected from society. Many people speculate that the Twenty were once members of society; that, when the Advisors saw their power, they had the deaths of these young men and women staged so they could begin their new lives. To see one of the Twenty is extremely rare, so there has been no confirmation of this. Anyone who has seen one can never remember what he or she looked like. Description: The men that invaded and killed the Iniuts called themselves the Greenlanders after a few years of control, and once the news about the 5 continental ships leaving were launching to find new homes they decided to follow the North American Ship secretly to their new world. The Greenlanders are known to be aggresive in the Navy but are more known to be feirce on ground since each soldier has been taught by a more experienced soldier. Their main base is abandoned by the Republic of Haven and is located about a hyper-gate jump from the planet, Haven. Their recent attacks have been the scientist space station since they oppose the children of Gaia. The Greenlanders have dispised the leader of the CoG since the 'Expansion War', because they attacked the Greenlanders since they are known to have info how to get to Earth. They divide themselves into different classes but mainly they stick to just different professions instead of ranks. Classes- If a soldier joins or is born they assign to the military and choose what they would like to work as. They decide to pick from one of many classes, including ground forces like, Rifleman, Heavy Assault, light Assault, Medic, Scout, Support, or Anti-Armor. In the Navy they choose from Bomber, Fighter, Scout, etc. They start as lowest level of that class, and are taught by a veteran or trained person in that class. Once they are more experienced they receive better rewards. Once the best of that class They are noted as the Master of Scout, Medics, etc. in the ground forces and Leader of Scouts, Fighters, etc. in the Navy. Writer Posted November 14, 2006 Share Posted November 14, 2006 Well, if you're going to have them attacking one of the space stations, you should be more specific as to which one they're attacking. Haven has two. The first is one maintained by the government. It holds a few analysts and a full repair crew. Its main purpose is to alert the surface to when ships from other planets are approaching. (So basically, it's one big sensor array ) The second was built and launched by a group of scientists. They operate and maintain it, claiming to be using the giant telescope aboard to search for Earth. But by now, most of the people of Haven know the telescope is directed toward the surface of the planet. The true goal of the scientists is unclear. If you're going to have your Greenlanders attacking, I'd rather you had them attack the planet itself instead of the space stations. Perhaps they're trying to provoke the Republic of Haven to take a side in the war. In that case, it's quite possible the Greenlanders viewed Haven's formulation of a military (even if it's small) as a partial success. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It is mostly stationed around New Sahara on the many military outposts, although there are several ground-based installations as well. It is primarily concerned with space operations, but conducts some small atmospheric operations as well. Army: The Army is Apex's oficial ground-based military. The Marines: The Marines are a small division of the Army created specifically to counter the Uprising. Before serving in the Marines, all "normal" recruits are required to have served at least three years in the Army, or to be recommended by an officer for superior skill. Many of the Marines are genetically engineered for superior strength and stamina. Special Forces: The Special Forces are the intelligence division of Apex's military. Completely separate from the Army and Navy, they are sometimes called upon to perform operations in conjunction with the Marines. The Special Forces are answerable only to the Chief and a few other high-ranking government officials. They are required to divulge information on their operations to no one but the Chief. Officially, they work to prevent terrorist uprisings and infiltration from other governments. Unofficially, they work to weed out people who differ with the government, and anyone connected with the Uprising. Recently, they have been searching for people with unusual abilities, and either recruiting them for the government, or putting them away for good. It is rumored that many Special Forces operatives have telepathic ability. The government will neither confirm or deny this. Apex Exploration Program (AEPRO): AEPRO began as an independent exploration committee sanctioned (and closely monitored) by the government. Its primary objective was to explore any nearby planets and their moons to search for available resources. Recently, the Apex government has seized full control of the program, for security reasons. Defense Project / Iron Curtain: The Defense Project was started decades ago, ostensibly in case of attack from outsiders, but really to "keep outsiders out and insiders in." It consists of numerous military outposts orbiting New Sahara in strategic positions. Ranks The Chief There is only one Chief. Head of the Apex government, all military divisions are answerable to this individual. Navy Fleet Admiral: Commands a fleet of capital ships. Admiral Commands a capital ship and its squadrons. Captain: Commands a ship and any ancillary ships assigned to it. First Mate: Second to the Captain of a ship. Ensign: Typically specializes in a single area, such as communications or weaponry. Redshirt: Someone liked Star Trek. These people are one step up from Apprentices. They typically serve on larger starships. Apprentice: The lowest rank in the Navy. They have completed simulation training, and are beginning real-life orientation. Squad Leader: Someone who commands a squadron of 10 to 15 fighters. Pilot: Someone who flies a fighter ship. Army General: These officers command groups of divisions, called corps. Lieutenant-General: These officers command divisions of anywhere from 10 to 100 regiments. Captain: These officers command regiments of 5 to 10 battalions. Colonel: These oficers command battalions of 2 to 6 squadrons Lieutenant: These officers command companies consisting of 3 to 10 platoons. Sergeant: These officers command platoons of 25 privates. Private: One step up from Recruits. This is the lowest rank considered to be "official" soldiers. Cannon fodder, anyone? Recruit: The lowest rank in the Army. These are the new people who haven't gone through training yet. Special Forces This group has a very loose ranking system, instead, most operatives are categorized by their specialities. Director of Intelligence: Head of the Special Forces, this individual answers only to the Chief. Blue Agents Blue Agents specialize in coordinating missions. Green Agent: Green Agents specialize in analyzing gathered intelligence. Black Agent: Black Agents specialize in lengthy undercover work, sometimes living what apppear to be normal lives for years in order to gather information. Red Agent: Red Agents specialize in in-and-out missions, where something must be destroyed, and it needs to look like an accident. Scarlet Agent: Scarlet Agents specialize in assassination. Gray Agent: Gray Agents specialize in undercover missions that need to be performed quickly, such as showing up at underground meetings only recently discovered. Also it may be me misunderstanding what you've typed but do you know that there hasn't been a war in 100 years from when we start the RP The current political climate is peaceful. Have,Ashoka,Olympia and Pharaz have trade with each other while Apex have closed themselves off from everyone else since the end of the war. Also out of curiosity why did you pick greenland, it just seems like the least likly country out of all the nations you could have picked (considering thee vast majority of their population are Inuit, a famously peaceful people) and was their ship a sleeper aswell. Looking forward to RPing in this universe for sure! ~~~~~ Military Structure of the Ashoka Alliance Ashoka Defense and Exploration Force (ADEF): Made up of 6 Groups, known as Shunts, the ADEF was primarily created as a platform for exploration of the three moons around Nirvana, but now serves as the AA’s defense force. There are four branches: Navy, Marines, Army, and Exploratory Services Personnel (Espy's for short). Espy's are tasked with exploring new territories and ensuring that trade lanes remain free of hinderances, either natural (like meteors, anomolies, etc.) or man-made (like pirates, smugglers, or other enemies.) Each Shunt is lead by a large cruiser with an associated tactical wing of small fighters and supply and escort ships. The three oldest cruisers-- Azora, Tiret, and Zuma—take their namesakes after the moons they were assigned to survey. Once the mining colonies were established, the purpose of the Azora, Tiret, and Zuma Shunts changed to protection and transport. Three new cruisers were built, smaller but more technologically advanced, to serve mainly as staging areas for the establishment of the new orbital space stations around three of the other six planets in the Ashoka system—Channi, Chetak, and Varuna. After the last conflict, the station orbiting Varuna was commissioned exclusively as military space dock. ADEF cruisers have a crew complement of 500 but can hold up to 5500 additional troops. They have mid-range hyper-drives, but are known more for their durability rather than their speed. They can hanger up to 50 small two-man fighters (called Darrees (DREs) for Defense /Recon/Explorer). Escort ships are faster and smaller than ADEF cruisers, but are heavily armed. After the last conflict, some of the ships have been redesigned to be used as Inderdictors to combat piracy along the trade routes. Transport ships vary from the large heavy mining transports to lighter, faster troop and supply transports. Communal Investigative Services (CIS) The primary duty of the CIS is to maintain and enforce law and order among Ashoka’s citizens. Each of their three major cities and each of their mining colonies have their own division of CIS. Those areas that are not encompassed under the jurisdiction of a city fall under the control of a regional CIS official that reports directly to the Darm. The Darmic Prefect has direct control of the CIS, but he must have approval from the Darm in order to use the central military. Ranks Ranks among the Ashoka military are non-branch specific, i.e. same for Navy, Marines, Army, and Exploratory Services Personnel. The CIS uses the same ranks, although the highest ranking officer in any CIS branch will be a Brigadier of either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd class (with first class being the higher rank). (O-11)ADEF Lord General: Reports directly to the Darm about all Military Affairs. (O-10) Branch General: Each Shunt is commanded by a Branch General. Also, there is a Branch General in charge of the CIS, and an additional one in charge of the Veruna space dock. (O-9) General: Each division of the Shunt (i.e. Navy, Marine, Army, and ESP) is headed by a General. (O-8)Major General: There are three Major Generals under each General. At the center of the station, they placed a large telescope, the largest they could build with their resources. When the station was complete, including atmosphere recycling units, all thirty scientists boarded and sealed themselves in. For nearly eight months, they remained inside their grounded 'space station'. At the end of eight months, citizens who'd grown accustomed to walking past the station on their way to work suddenly realized that it was gone from its resting place. Now, it flies in orbit around Haven, just as the scientists claimed it would, placed there by the scientists' collective telekinetic power. Once a month, a shuttle leaves the SoH station and lands in Paramount City, Haven's capital. Each time this happens, ten people depart from the shuttle and scatter. Several hours later, they return with hands full of things they've bought. Then, the shuttle returns to the station. Every time the shuttle lands, a crowd of reporters is there to greet the scientists. They are asked many questions. What does the SoH plan to do? Why did they create the station? Why do they so rarely leave it? Are there children aboard by now? The scientists aboard the shuttle answer very few of the questions. They claim their purpose aboard the station is to rediscover Earth's location, but their giant telescope is directed toward Haven's surface. Yes, there are children aboard and they're just as thrilled with the project as their parents are. It's still uncertain what exactly this 'project' truly is. Some speculate the SoH is trying to trace how the telekinetic mutations came about and attempting to accelerate the process. All such speculations are unproven. - --- - --- - --- - --- - Name: Dragon's Teeth Type: Pirate Location: mostly neutral territory, but you'll find them anywhere there's a hypergate Description:The Dragon's Teeth were formed on Haven to serve as a quote "more aggressive navy", but when the planet took a decisively neutral stance in the war, all fifty men and women worked together to steal parts from various businesses on Haven to build six small ships. In these ships, they left the planet, becoming thieving nomads. After a year of wandering, they landed on Olympia, pretending to be lost travelers from one of the other worlds. While there, they stole supplies, building eighteen more ships. Now, they have developed advanced communication technology, allowing their 'fleet' of fifty ships to stay connected, even at great distances. They fly in small groups, ten ships each and they have fully made the shift into pirating. In addition to their communication technology, the Dragon's Teeth have also developed a method of entering a hypergate as a larger, cargo ship enters. Their groups of ten small ships hide in wait, masking their energy signatures by staying close to the hypergates until the larger ship is just about to enter it. Then, they appear, forming a ring around the larger ship and docking with it just as it enters the hypergate. Then, while the larger ship travels, they take over the ship, deck by deck, putting the entire crew of the larger ship into the airlocks. Once the takeover is complete, they load all the cargo into their ships and set the airlocks to release into space as soon as the cargo ship comes out the other end of the hypergate. Survivors are rare in a Dragon's Teeth raid, but they do exist. They describe the Dragon's Teeth as being utterly cold and ruthless, without heart. They dress fully in black and have jagged ivory colored teeth embroidered into their 'uniforms'. Their methods of piracy occasionally put them at odds with the Gate Jammers. As the Teeth originated from Haven, they have telekinetic powers, as do all Havenites. Because of this, the Three Council of Haven has formed the 'Dragon Slayers'. - --- - --- - --- - --- - Name: Dragon Slayers Type: Pirate Hunters Location: widespread throughout the neutral territory and hypergates Description: Formed to combat the Dragon's Teeth, these groups of ten men and women travel in 'packs'. Each Slayer has his or her own personal fighter, which enhances his or her telekinetic abilities. They are aware of how the Dragon's Teeth lie in wait for their prey. So when a group of Teeth begin their attack, the Slayers are almost always right behind them. In every known Teeth attack where the Slayers managed to catch them, the fight proceeds into the cargo ships, where the Teeth are trying to get the cargo and the Slayers are trying to stop them. The battles between the Slayers and the Teeth are often fierce contests of telekinetic power. Sometimes there is no definite victor in the fight. Both sides have had their victories and their losses. But slowly, the Slayers are accomplishing their goal. If the Teeth want to keep pirating, they're going to have to start recruiting soon; they simply cannot give birth and raise more Teeth as fast as they're loosing them. starmark2k Posted December 2, 2006 Author Share Posted December 2, 2006 O.K we won't start until we get Archons military structure but i suppose now we need to work out what our first story will be. The first story will be where we work out any kinks and other things we need to add. You can submit more groups but as we did not get as many submissions as i would have liked they are all in. So i have four ideas for our first (hopefully of many) story. 1) Free Roaming- Simply living in our universe, no story. You can be anyone and anywhere. You can interact with any NPCs or other players. 2) The Second War- The Iron cutain has falling and Apex of struck with an army that has been built over the 100 years of peace. Invading areas of the independant territories, in direct violation of the treaty, the Forces of Olympia and Ashoka are sending ships to push them back. Haven remain neutral and Pharaz-Gil are undecided who they will fight with. You are a soldier, Pilot or officer of one of the military forces. 3) Mercenary Crew- We've done it with Star Wars so how about our little universe. Same deal as Star Wars MC, You are on an Independant ship as a crew men who flies around the galaxy doing jobs. 4) Search for somthing- Somthing is missing or found of great imprtance. You have been sent to find it by a military or other group. If anyone has better ideas please submit one otherwise vote for one of the above. you can still submit Groups untill we start and proberly after we do anyway.
